Help - won't start due to idiotic move on my part! Stood up with PTO on!!!

Is this tractor HST? If so push up and down on the forward and reverse levers a couple of times and try starting. No matter what I am doing when the tractor shuts off, I aways seem to have to play with the F-R pedals to get it restarted.

Does the pto shaft turn freely with that position in neutral? It might be worth a try to make sure there is no tension or it is stuck in gear.

So is the seat switch also the neutral saftey switch? I can move my steering wheel up and forward and stand up while mowing. Do you have a wiring diagram to trace out the circuit from the PTO to see what all systems that circuit accesses?

No, the seat switch defeated only help prevent engine stall during bumpy ride and that's all. It doesn't defeat the neutral safety switch, you will still have to be in neutral in order to start the engine.

Then it could be an open in the neutral safety switch circuit.

Shutting down a motor while the PTO is still spinning an implement is bound to shake the machine pretty hard. I remember doing it with the key switch just once on the old JD and never again. It could have shaken things hard enough to make a wire come loose or for anything else to happen.

Some of these safety features can be troublesome. Even though it is a hydrostat, the M59 has a manual clutch that has to be pushed in order to start the tractor. I left that one in place, but defeated all the switches in the seat the first day of ownership. It's common for tractor operators to stand up sometimes.
Once when the M59 wouldn't start it turned out to be a small twig had gotten trapped in the F/R pedal mechanism and was holding it just slightly off center.

So the neutral saftey switch is on the clutch linkage for a HST then. Wiring connectors on switches nowadays are easy to knock off.
Like I said 3 days ago.............I stand up while mowing. The movable steering wheel on my Mahindra makes it comfortable to mow all day standing up if I want.

Does anyone know what the outcome was?
We are having the same problem now. A friend shut the tractor with the brush hog running and the tractor is stuck wayyyyyyyyyyyyy in the woods. Is all we get is a buzzing sound.
We tried everything, shaking handle and so on. Next step will most likely be an expensive one. We are a good few miles in the mountains and 10-12 from a main road. Luckily we were done and the path is big and smooth. All for hunting.
This is an M series Kubota 68 HP 4 wheel drive.

Have you checked for sticks/twigs pulling wire connector off the safety switches? Pto turned off? Try jumping out the seat safety switch?

We have tried just about everything. The local Kabota dealer wants us to turn the PTO a few turns as well as move the tractor frontwards and backwards a few feet. Something about pressure and not being fully disengaged! Although not common it sounds as though he has come across this problem before.
