What metal drill bit for putting a Piranha on?

A long long time ago, in a far away reality I suggested using a machine shop to do the drilling. Since then I've had another idea: why not get a billion dollar DOD high energy laser to do the job? Since Roy is working in QC he might have a connection to someone who has one?!:confused2::eek::laughing:

Wow, talk about beating a thread to DEATH!? This may take the cake. Some may even have to eat some 'humble pie'. And we wonder why America has so much trouble making anything - if reading a scale is so difficult, and realizing a dial is not properly zeroed; well then it seems we're clearly doomed to turn out mediocre work results. And China may produce a lot of crap, BUT we KEEP buying it!:confused3:

The problem is it the holes have to be drilled through his bucket...I thought it was a tooth bar from the pictures. Pulling his bucket wouldn't be a problem...handling it would be (after it was off his loader...and at a machine shop).
I'm sure the OP will have no problems drilling if he does the pilot holes then step up a size or so until he gets to his required size.

Lots of discussion about the calipers, I well remember Mjncad a poster here who probably gave up on the forum because of threads like this. Might have changed his signature line to "Measure with calipers, mark with chalk and cut with a torch". Kind of silly isn't it? Just for more useless input looks close to .8 to me.

Way back in the thread, when it was still about drilling holes I suggested the use of a holes saw also, probably got ignored since it was to "on topic" for most of the posters to this thread.

I remember that and mentally acknowledged it at the time I read it. Problem around here is there are too many people who want to talk the talk but can't perform. Gets a little tiresome and is making me loose interest in the forum. I have spent a lot of time here and am beginning to think it is wasted time.:(

I'd still like to know what company Roy works for, so I can buy the Chinese version of their product instead.

Good luck with that- not a chance in H you'll ever know, so let it go.

Unless he finds a tractor shop that has the necessary tools in house. AND BTW, I read what he was doing when I read his initial post and therefore was aware it was a bucket he was wanting to attach the Piranha to. What else would one attach a Piranha too? A canopy?:confused2:

I know the feeling of endless posts on threads that head off into their own, often ego based diatribes. It gets tiresome- but don't give up. Just find another thread to read, post on, etc.
IMHO the mods ought to kick in if not the OP to kill threads that go way, way off topic- but that doesn't seem to be a priority.....

It's QA work for an aerospace manufacturer, actually. All you had to do was ask...

Oh, so you're the guy who QC'd the plane that the 'amatuer' pilots landed too low on approach to the runway this summer?
