Have these things all over my property.

Is that a tarantula? My wife would refuse to go outside if we had those here!

I believe they are a type of wolf spider here in Tennessee. They love shaded, wooded areas and we will see several a day. I used to leave my boots on the steps outside until I found a small version of this spider in one of them.

You need to take a picture of one in your hand so we get a better idea of the size. :)

OK, yeah, that's a huge spider!

Your little lizzard buddy is cute though. :)

Most of the critters & I get along pretty well. Cardinals will almost eat out of your hand. Cotton Tails will stop & listen if talked to. Had 1 step on my foot trying to get in the garden. Have a couple of doves that come by for chit chat or ?? Horn toads like to have there sides rubbed.

That's pretty cool!

Right in the middle of a day of problems, this guy showed up. I was working on the cooler when Bobby let me know we had a snake. Not more than 15 feet away, it was under the house. 2 Hits & 1 miss with BB rifle & he was still wanting to bite. Little shovel did him in. #7 This year.

Here are pictures of what was left of rattler #6. Next day it was all gone.

Here is a picture of some of my spoiled doves, they are about 12 feet away.

Another trapped opossum to be relocated.....seems to be an endless population of these marsupials

Remind me not to live in AZ :)

We may have rattle snakes here - but I've never seen one. Biggest problem around here is Copperhead, and I've killed a number of those.

To me a copper head would be worse.

That's quit the herd of doves hanging out there!

Those are the doves I call the "spoiled bunch". 2 Or 3 of them come & stare at me until I put seeds out for them.
About 30 feet farther out is where the vulture Doves eat, some where between 30 & 50 of them. They sit in a tree about 50 feet away, then attack when I put seeds out.

Bird seed attracts rodents, rodents attract snakes......
That's the way it works around here.
If I had Mojave rattlers here, I would not have any feed about. I don't keep any seed or grain. It just causes problems...I have plenty of birds around.

Feeding the birds is a very small part of the problem. Been feeding them for years. The drouth is a major factor. I had very few rodents until this year. Then they came in droves mostly for water. New are 1 Gray Squirrel, (Should not be here at all) lots of chip monks. plus rats & mice. Think there may even be a mole. All are new as most rats & mice had been eliminated.

The Mexican Air Force has been in & refueled. These guys are so pretty in the air or at a distance. Maybe 1 of the best flier of all birds.
Getting good pictures of them is not easy. When it's wings were spread the span was 5 or 6 feet. In one picture you can see a fly by. Couldn't get a good picture but the 2 of them has a short battle, as a 3rd on buzzed them.
