It seems most of us N.Texans got the same amount of rain. 1/2" here too.

Lou, I had a relative come to visit and commented on the pretty white flowers in the pasture. She was talking about all the bull nettles. My dad told her she could go pick all she wanted, but my mother stopped her before she did it.:D

0.7" in the gauge, and a band out west of me slowly creeping this way. Maybe it will hold together and I'll get a little more! :cool2:

Once, when the prickly pear were on bloom, someone came through from up north. They wanted to know if they could dig up some of the cactus in my fence row to take home. I told them they were welcome to all of it they could dig and haul! They do have pretty blooms, but that is all that I can say for them.

I will put a few more photos on later if y'all are interested. The reason I was looking at this one so hard the last few weeks, is the "toy hauler" dealy in the rear. It has a drop down ramp and an 10'x8' enclosed parking area, so I can load my equipment or atv if I had one. Bought it just over wholesale!!
Dennis,
Awesome ride/sleeper! Will it be for business or pleasure or both?
hugs, Brandi

Yellow Field

A field of yellow flowers with their tiny little seeds
Sucking up the moisture the real grass will need
A stranger to the country a beautiful field he will see
While a farmer will think about how to kill that pesky weed
Two different people both a with a dream
One will see the beauty, the other will see the weed
As a farmer has that what it痴 become?
We overlook the beauty and miss out on the fun.. Lou

Awesome photo and poem, Lou. Do you remember her name?
hugs, Brandi

Brandi, mostly pleasure, but if the opportunity works out on a few out of town jobs, I'll give it a try.

Had to change the fuel filler hose, some dumb jackwagon put it in so tight they kinked the hose, over time it ate a 2" hole in the side. No wonder the generator only had 7 hrs on it!! and the moron left gas in it:confused3: Talk about varnish!! I had it running for about an hour with double Seafoam and will still probably have to buy a carb for it (these are non-rebuildable and a HUGE no no leaving fuel in there)

BTW B-E-utiful weather out right now,66* and I got .68" of rain. Oats growing great too!!

:laughing:Her name is Courtney my youngest granddaughter,,Was at her birthday party this afternoon.. She was Twelve not thirteen as I wrote earlier.:confused3:. What I don't remember is who or what I wrote this for.. I think it was for a local bluebonnet group trying to keep the fields open and un-mowed.. but that was seven or eight years ago..:) Lou

Thanks Lou. Always nice to put a name to a photo.

Dennis,
What brand of generator is it? I hate throw-a-way equipment that you can not work on.

We got 1/10 inch of rain this early afternoon that woke me up. A little drizzle this late afternoon. Right now I hear a thunderbumper that radar says is headed right for me.
hugs, Brandi

Brandi, it is an Onan marquis Gold 5500 50amp gas. They uilt the carb as a total replacement, which is from what I understand, the only negative to this genset.

The morning lightning knock out the internet tower AGAIN, but it is up now just 12 hours later - that's pretty good for a weekend. We had 1.5" of rain so far today and another storm is heading this way from the Northwest hitting us after midnight.

Lou your poem is so true. When I was looking at this place 20 years ago all the mesquite out front made the place undesirable to the locals. past the mesquite were hills of flowers in the sand land - again no coastal no way to make hay. after the native flower it was native woods again no grazing in the woods. It was on the market for more than a year.
I will never replace the flowers. I'm still in awe each May, well eight out of ten years when we get a little rain.
