Can you post pictures when you get it, I have three rear remotes as I have a Land Pride HR3584 box scraper and might try to use one of them instead of adding a third function for a grapple.

The tractor was delivered Saturday, and I spent some time using it this weekend. Here are some pics of the routing of the hydraulic lines from rear to front:

I need to take the slack out of the one that's hanging down a bit. It's just begging to catch on something. All the lines for the loader and grapple are pretty exposed. I'm gonna have to fashion a guard for that area.

Here the two lines from the rear are shown zip tied to the FEL hydraulic lines:

For those who were involved in the "Zipties on Kubota" thread, notice how neatly the zipties are clipped off. :thumbsup:

Notice the bungie. The lines from the stump grapple are long enough that they drag the ground a bit without the bungie.

If I had it to do over again, I'd have them put an "L" connector in on the front so that the quick connects would point up instead of forward. When the grapple is tilted back, the back plate of it slightly contacts the lines near the quick connect. I'm afraid the contact is enough to stress the joint there. I'm gonna work on changing that up.

Would having the QDs on top of the tube help things out? :confused3:

Maybe. I'll check it next time I go over to the property where the tractor is.

That was my thought too. I like the set up. Very neat. However, I would have fashioned that bracket on the torque tube so the hoses and connectors were above rather than below the tube. Should be easy to change that and it would both keep the hoses a little higher, out of danger, and it would allow you to see them more easily so you don't inadvertently let brush jab them.

Thanks for the pictures, I am seriously thinking about getting a grapple and hate to turn loose of the money for a third function setup that I should have added when I bought the tractor, but "Oh, no I don't 'need' a grapple or anything like that, so skip the third function", it's a shame we don't know as much as we think we do.:eek:

Another point, you don't show photos of the lines to the grapple but encasing those in a nylon sock will provide both direct protection from abrasion and will also protect against snagging by brush.

James, I "think" she might be coming around, so you just "might" be safe though she still won't let me go west of Poplar Bluff and I'm sure it has nothing to do with you and Richard.

Now I just have to decide on:

1. Which tractor
2. Which grapple
3. Use one of the rear remotes or buy a setup from Fit-Rite
4. Which meal to skip to pay for it.

My brother is the mechanic in the family and just retired, so I am waiting on feedback from him. I am also doing a "Waxman" step modification and will be putting the Grammar air ride seat in if I can ever let the tractor sit very long an coordinate with my son.

L5740 would be my choice, but then you could do what I did and have the capability on 2 tractors and not have a dedicated tractor for the grapple work. :cool: :thumbsup: ;)

My dealer installed a similar set of lines to the front so i can use my snowplow with an extension handle on the rear ports. I ended up removing the lines and adding a quick disconnect at the same location as the factory disconnects because removal of the loader was a PAIN IN TH *** without the quick disconnects.

I didnt want to pay $$$ for a 3rd function either, and actually have no issues with the way the dealer set it up. Extending the control shafts about 10" really helps...and is easy to do.

also, a heads up

If you have the detents installed on the second set of rear remotes, think about adding a loop to prevent deadheading the engine and hyd pump if you ever accidentally engage the lever without anything installed. Cheap insurance.
