Two 5-gallon yellow cans. I transfer with a small battery powered siphon pump I got at Lowes. Works great.

Three six gallon cans for me as well just stand on a five gallon pail and pour. May get a 35 gallon tank and put on stand let gravity feed this winter if I can figure logistics out

Ray;

In Texas Red diesel is tax free. Reduced for State and Federal taxes by $0.38 per gallon. No sales tax either. Found fuel ticket from 1992, when I got 300 gallon tank filled first time for $0.83 per gallon. Miss those days. Propane was way under a dollar a gallon also.

Rick

To be clear, yes I would run red if it were on the way like the other station is. But the savings on tax would only be a buck or 2 and that isn't enough to be worth an extra 5 mile trip. I only have a BX so 5 gallons lasts quite a while.

360 gal. Tank . Added 200 gallons to the 70 or so I had left 4 or 5 years ago . Added a bottle of fuel treatment a couple of years ago , may throw in another here shortly . Never had algae or gelling problems , but temp's here are usually no lower than low to mid 20's and high's are maybe mid 90's to low 100's on occasion . Depending on usage during the weekend , at most I would use 2 to 3 gallons a week , sometimes don't use any .

To be clear I am NOT on any sort of govt help and never have been. I am not liked on this forum because one of my first posts I ***** on my own tractor because I don't like it so I offended those here that wear orange lipstick.
Either that's not true, or the statements below aren't true.
Funny you should mention that ungmonkey, my girlfriend is pregnant expecting our 7thy child, the free cheese and milk is tasty also.
I fill my new tractor out of the home heating oil tank in the basement. Since I am on heating assistance I get to use my tractor courtesy of the state welfare program. Last year I used so much fuel the state is insulating my house for free. Fred
. Hey Fred...the comments are obnoxious. We know people like you steal from the rest of us. It's embarrassing for you that you were raised to believe that stealing was something to be proud of. Apparently you don't realize you should be embarrassed.

People like The Fred are generally good people, they just like to get a rise outta folk by saying outlandish things. I've been known to do similar among close personal friends. Sarcasm doesn't translate through text very well. He just has an eccentric sense of humor.

And lets be totally honest, even if he is cranking out babies for free milk and cheese and using free home heating oil in his tractor and even if he got welfare to buy the tractor for him, why complain at him. Politicians make a career of "gaming the system" and we just vote them and their types back into office time and time again, why not say HORRAY for The Fred for learning the system as well as a politician and then go BOO the politicians that make such things possible in the first place. Such things DO happen and the ones doing it generally wouldn't be caught bragging about it, HORRAY for The Fred for making people angry about it, now go focus your anger someplace it can do some good like a ballot box or sounding your displeasure at your local rep's offices. Sounding off at some user in a internet forum is about as useless as an effort can get.

Farmer;

Texas requires a permit also since about 2010. You can fill out form online and receive permit in a couple of weeks.

Rick

Figure most states do but nobody had mentioned it yet.

I've been asked about filling out a farm sheet at Fleet Farm, but I figure my 2 acres (3/4 acre lawn, 1 acre woods, 1/4 acre grassland) with 3 apple trees doesn't qualify for the tax write off. :thumbsup:

Saying you don't take any government help, then later bragging about using free government heating oil to power your tractor is not eccentric. It's commonly called a lie. And if the lie and the bragging about stealing tax dollars is just a joke, then "The Fred" is not really very aware of his surroundings....

PSDX It was a joke, a cruel sick joke.

Twisted sense of humor? Maybe, or I might just be mad because I can't get my new tractor to run no matter how much fuel I add or how I fuel it.

I really got yous guys going, at least gun monkey quit sending me death threats.
