He told me of some tractor tires he changed once where the tires had been badly dry-roted and someone had lined the inside of the tires with used tread caps, He ask the customer about "whats up with that?" and he's said they been in there for 15 years,
Now that my freinds is what you call getting all from tires you can get,![]()
very common.
I've changed tires that had a roll of duct tape in t he center of the rusty rim to prevent aprasion of the tube.
I've seen an old tube split and used as a boot.
rubber is spendy.
I run a tire till it blows off the rim...I have fronts on a couple tractors that started life as tri ribs and are now slick. one has a hole the size of a quarter.. i put a large 6" farm patch inside the tire and retubed and went.
I chenged a st of fronts on etime that were so thin in the tread area that i ripped them in half takingthem off the bead. IE.. a bead ring and half a tire in each hand.
