Exactly. By the way, you have had a solid well thought out consistent message for years that has saved a lot of people a lot of money. I think there are different styles of grapples that people simply need to match up to their needs. Most are what you advise. Some are more specialized.

1. what is it you are trying to do with the grapple most often?

2. What would be the most effecient size/ fit for your tractor?

3. Once you have this figured out. then go read Island Tractor's post #109.

By the way, I remain completely unimpressed with WR Long's quality control. It showed up with all the fittings loose, sprayed fluid all over the place. We tightened up the visible ones, this afternoon the one under the covers worked loose, more fluid all over the place. $2400 and they can't be bothered to tighten up the fittings? It's not like they hustled to get this to me, it was 2 weeks or more later than promised.

Nice tool, pretty shameful that made in America means sloppy quality control.

That's too bad. Sounds like one individual responsible for attaching hoses needs some retraining.

Does WRLong use JIC fittings at the leak points? If so, be careful not to over tighten.

Everything attachments

Maybe Ted is loosening up bolts on the WR Long grapples before they ship to make his Wickeds look better? haha Both WR Long and EA should have caught that. Fluid all over the grapple should have been noticed, and the reason behind it should have been looked into. Or did the fluid get all over after you used it.

It was clearly never run, it spewed fluid when I hooked it up. Also was not greased. And the best of the bunch, one of the fittings on the right ram was cross threaded, that's why it started leaking.

Color me unimpressed.

Have both the blade and the grapple here. Like the blade. Not sure about the grapple, had a bad experience, it arrived with all the fittings finger tight so it spewed fluid all over the place.

The grapple just got here, not sure if I like it or not. A neighbor who knows way more than me said I won't like it because it won't hold one tree.

I'm stewing on how to grab stuff. Stay tuned.

get both. i am a fan of the rake style then again i am using it to RAKE. mine also has longer bottom tines it will hold a log when the grapple is rolled back without the lid pinching it. it opens over 48" i bought it at auction unused for $1200. it holds plenty of brush. it is 74" wide covers the front tires

(yes i have posted these pics in other threads before) i've used a bucket with two lids, a single lid L style and this one this one its the best of the three (for me) and as everyone says any grapple is better than no grapple

I'm surprised to hear that. Have you called Nelson and told him about this? I was incredibly impressed with they're customer service but its been a few years since my purchase.

That's a really nice setup there! Do you know who makes that grapple? It's not really the root rake style OR L bottom style but almost a hybrid of the two designs.
Something like that would be great on my 410 backhoe.
