Any one seen a drone?

Sorry, but this thing is the size of a truck. No home owner gizmo here. This looks just like the predator drones the military uses.

I wouldn't be so quick to discount the overzealous hobbyist. Just look at some of the home-built tractor projects that get posted here on TBN. :laughing:

A quick google search shows RC versions of the predator with a 5 or 6 foot wingspan that can be yours for less than $500. Also, almost unbelievably big rc planes

btw, according to wikipedia the real predators have a wing span of almost 50 feet, much bigger than a truck.

Follow up... called the FAA today. They have no record of any military, college, or gov. intity operating a drone over our area. Probably a private aircraft breaking lots of regulations. Anyway, I filed a complaint, and the FAA is going to investigate. So... .308 or double 00 buckshot???

just remember, on the off chance it is a real drone, it'll pick up the muzzle flash and "they" will know who you are and where you live by the time the bullet hits it :laughing:

I have never seen an Actual Drone, but if I ever do, I hope that it is delivering Pizza and not a load of Munitions. BTW, HS is giving grant money to some Police Departments for purchasing Drones.

That is really the issue, here. If it is flying low enough to be shot at, it is below the FAA mandated air space of 400 ft. Might be fair game at that point.

I would buy a kids model helicopter / plane and oooops crash into it. Now I'm sure there is no law against "accidentally" crashing your toy model into someone invading your airspace without your prior approval. I would also read about hacking the controls to teach who ever it is a lesson. When they come looking for it charge them a search free.
