If you just plow straight it would probably work fine. I found if I plowed on a curve my blade slid over and I was off the tractor unhooking readjusting and hooking back up again.
The expander ring is just for picking up bulky not heavy loads, i.e. leaves, weeds from the lake and snow. For tight areas bucket straight up. With plow attached, not only is this set up longer, when I lift my bucket straight up (for tight turning areas) it makes the tractor even more tippy.
Sounds like you are running the bucket expander and the plow at the same time?
