I see this site as the farm tractor site, not the legal, law, government rules site. I guess I see it differently than you.

This site is far more than a farm site. And advising someone to be legal and safe...why would anyone oppose that.

Because some posts are just people talking. It shouldn't have to be government law advice all the time. That's boring in my humble opinion. I can turn on the news, or go to a law firm site if I was looking for "advice" based on negative points of view all the time.

i see it as the help your fellow man site. and if telling him to watch out for smokey and being overloaded is helping him... then I think it's worth mentioning. Hurts none to do so.. may help some though.

then alumin foil hats types sometimes don't like gubermint being brought up. least that is what I have observed in some other forums.
Not saying that is the case here. just sayin in general.

On the other hand, there was someone on here a few months back who tried to haul a fair sized tractor (~40HP Massey Industrial with a loader), loaded it wrong (not enough tongue weight per his pictures), it started swaying and he lost the tractor and trailer into the ditch.
Some people don't know to tow safely and come here for advice. If we can make a suggestion that will save them from a expensive ticket (or accident) by helping them match the truck to the load and tie the load down properly, why shouldn't we do that?
