Bought a Miller Multimatic 200

It's really hard to tell how it welds by the pictures. Maybe some better pics of the welds would be better than pictures of the whole project?:anyone:

I'll get some pictures of the better welds you have to remember this is my first time welding aluminum so you can't judge too harshly on the machine.

There are some better welds than this but these are some of the easier ones to take pictures of without taking stuff off the cart.

Fordman I'm no expert with aluminum, but one thing that may help you. Take a stainless steel wire brush to the base metal just before welding. But don't ever use that brush on anything else but aluminum!

I try not to take a wire brush to aluminum anymore, unless its complete crud or something of that nature. I wipe it with acetone, crank up the amps to blast away the oxide layer and then back off a bit and get at it quick. Quick feed while watching everything going on and giddy up and go.

Another thing to take note of is the welds in my pics were made on 120v in my garage at home I don't have access to 220/240v I would have to go to the farm for that an it's too cold for that right now.

LOL I hear ya bud. Grab some thinner material and filler to keep you on a level playing field and the same rules will follow suit.

Welder mike; Really? I always believed that to get optimal results; stainless wire brush, degrease with acetone, new roll of wire, push and go go go

May need to rethink after seeing your weld; nice
