Landpride grapple for SCUT?

Shatter, nice workmanship on the protective box for the diverter valve. Just curious where did you get the grapple from and if you don't mind what does something like that cost? Thanks, Stanley

I think when I ordered mine it would come welded for a little more $ or to save it came in a bunch of pieces which was great since I changed mine a little. Good luck, you will love it.

Shatter... that is awesome! What size tractor? And could you lift that boulder? Any idea of its weight?

B3300SU, I was barely able to lift it. I think my spec is 700 and something for lift capacity so probably right around 700 lbs and then if you use one and put to hard work like I have you will bend a tooth every now and then. To help control heavy loads in my bucket I will usually use some chains to keep it tight while moving large items.

Very impressive! :thumbsup:

That bent tooth just gives a wider grip. :D

It's 40 here today, but going sub-freezing again tomorrow, so I decided to mount the Kubota FEL quick hitch. Pretty straight forward. Going to be nice to be able to drop the bucket and mount the grapple, and maybe forks someday, quickly. Also attached is a pic of the grapple as it sits in my garage now. One item of note is the 90 degree fittings for the hoses that will plug into the male QC's on the FEL torque tube - they look rather exposed should a stick/branch/etc. come through the back of the grapple. I may try to turn them 90* counterclockwise, or maybe get some expanded metal screening an weld that on the back of the grapple. We'll see once it's mounted how exposed the hoses are. It might just be how it sits now unhooked. Oh yeah, quite a few small rust spots which are a bit annoying. I will touch it all up come Spring.

😟 I'm very jealous down here in Texas. My dealer has not yet gotten his LandPride shipment. Thanks for all the pics. It really helps me get an idea of what I'm facing in installing this "kit". I looked at the installation instruction in the manual and it appears the 3rd valve hoses just replace the shorter length metal line connecting the outlet block behind the right rear tire to the power beyond port of the loader valve However, I'm not sure my BX24 is set up quite that way as there is also the backhoe which has its own power beyond circuit which then feeds the front end loader (I think). Your BX25 may be the same way. I recollect that the outlet block for a BX24 is not behind the tire and that the hydraulic power is somehow fed directly to the backhoe using different ports . I may be way off and this as my memory seems to be failing faster than my age increases. In any event, if it is as I believe, a person could connect the 3rd function valve lines to the power beyond circuit for the backhoe (longer hoses would be needed). However, by the time I get my grapple it is my hope you have gotten yours installed and have documented the process with instructional pictures that I can follow. LOL

Lowellw2 - Yes, you are right on regarding the instructions for connecting the valve into the loader circuit. I'm pretty sure the BX24 hyraulics are the same as the BX25. My plan is to hook it up the way the instructions read by removing the short pipe for the PB line from the hydraulic block and connecting each of the hoses to the where the pipe ends were hooked up. I already looked at my tractor and it is set up how the instructions read, though they don't show you a pic and only instruct you to remove the right rear wheel to get at the pipe. Per my investigation, it looks like one end of the pipe is inside the frame, so I'll have to get at it from below (well that's the plan right now anyway).

As for the BH powerbeyond loop, you could hook it up at there but then there would be no way to feed the grapple when the BH is installed. I previously installed a dual spool rear remote by plugging it into the BH power beyond loop and set it up so I can run my BH off of one of the spools. When I do this, there is no pressure to the FEL or 3PH, so I'm certain that the BX hydraulic flow is either:

BH -> FEL -> 3PH, or
BH -> 3PH -> FEL,

But my bet is on the former set up. By the way, going by the LP instructions, you need to ID which pipe is the pressure or PB feed line. I was able to ID it positively from the parts diagram which shows one of the pipes as Pipe - PB and the other as Pipe - Tank.

Anyway, still waiting on my missing male QC's and better weather. Oh, one more observation - LP doesn't include dust caps for all the QC's. I thought that was chintzy. I am going to stop by a JD dealer near me and see if they have them in stock. Unfortunately, to put them on, I'll have to R&R the QC's. Dumb move by LP there.

A few more pic's for your enjoyment. Here's all the hydraulics, valve and mounts that need to go on the tractor to operate the grapple, plus the new FEL control handle with the two buttons to open and close the jaw. In the first pic, you can sort of see how the hoses connect. The hoses with hose protectors and female QC's on one end get hooked to the top of the directional valve, but as you can see, there needs to be male QC's on the valve itself - these were missing from my parts bag but the dealer is having them drop-shipped this week to my house. The other end of these hoses mount to the FEL torque tube with the rounded U-bolt. The other bracket with the square U-bolt gets mounted down the end of the loader boom and those scissor-like forks hold the hoses from the grapple in place.

Now as for hooking the valve into the power beyond circuit, this is looking more involved than I hoped. The manual only says to remove one of the pipes on the PB run and connect the two hoses (without hose protection) into each end - one end at the hydro block, and the other onto the PB pipe that remains on the tractor. Unfortunately, from this pic I found elsewhere on TBN (thanks dmacneil) it looks like I'll need to remove the floor board to get to the other end of the pipe. You can see the pipes have a "splice" under the tractor, which is inside the frame and not very accessible. I'll take a look to see if I can get at this pipe from underneath, but I have the Bro Tek skid plate on which may have to come off anyway. Anyone know if the floorboard/pan can be removed easily? Never tried to remove it - no broken fan blades so far thank goodness.
The valve they supplied is just on or off for both directions? By that i mean its always has pressure and when you push the joystick button it opens the valve with full pressure to whatever its hooked too. With a diverter hooked thru the loader curcuit you can feather the pressure. Remember to unload the pressure on the grapple when you
unhook the hydros you will need to shut off the tractor then turn the key back on and cycle the valve in both directions.

bandaidmd - I think so. The new joystick handle has two buttons, I assume one for open and one for close. I'm assuming you press either one to turn on pressure in that direction, and press it again to stop pressure. I don't actually see in the manual where operation of the two buttons is described, oddly. Will know for sure when it's operational. On the plus side, since it's a true third function, you can operate the grapple claw while also moving the joystick as normal to achieve simultaneous dual or even triple functions, assuming the BX has enough GPM to make simultaneous operation more than at a snail's pace.
