Glad to see the cold weather is not stopping you. Cringing with the memories of how we scrambled like you are and glad they are only memories now. Great job!!

We are staying warm Tom but we're burning through a lot of propane. We've been keeping the house around 62-64 using a portable propane heater. It was -8 hear night before last and -5 this morning. Our HVAC is installed but they didn't get the ground loop installed before the frost set in. They do have backup heat strips that we can use as soon as we get the sheetrock dust cleaned up. Still waiting on the flue install for the fireplace as well.

Great to hear:dance1:

What are you doing for flooring and does it get installed before or after you cabinets?

We are using 3/4" hickory for most of the house. Cabinets will get shimmed up for the flooring since it will have to be installed later. I need to get our HVAC up and running and get the flooring moved into the house for a few weeks before we start installing.

All roads ALMOST lead to heat.

We'll after 4" of snow today and yesterday our fireplace install is on hold yet again so still on propane. Our sheetrock is finished and we are in the daunting task of cleaning up now. As soon as cleanup is complete we can at least start running our HVAC units using their backup heat strips. Anyone have any suggestions for cleaning up sheetrock dust on the subfloor? We've run the shop vac using the sheetrock bag filters and its done a decent job but would like to get it cleaned up a little better.

Wet mopping with an old towel or string mop is the best way to finish after the vac. No fun.

Dad came up yesterday and helped me mop. It was nice to have him come up and give me a hand and really enjoyed his company. Everything is mopped and walls are wiped down ready for paint. We plan to start painting tomorrow. Also - here's a few updated pics on what's been going on.

The sheetrock turned out really nice. The owner was on site and one of the finishers on the finish crew. After everything was done they went over the entire house with handheld lights twice and marked any problem areas. They also asked us to start priming and give them a call if we came across any issues so they could come back out if needed.

Here's a pic of the scissor trusses along with a closeup of the sheetrock around the timbers where they meet the wall.

I installed the ceiling fans before the scaffolding for sheetrock was taken down. We were really happy with the fans and how they matched the timbers. They really move a lot of air as well.

Tongue and groove was put up in the entry and I've got most of the dining room done as well.

My wife changed her mind now that everything is closed in and decided that she wanted some pendent lights over the stairs. Luckily I pulled a wire into the attic space for them just in case. Since the ceiling was closed in and foamed I only had one access point close to the hallway and edge of the ceiling. We didn't really want track here so I ran some exposed metal conduit and painted it to match the fans.

Fireplace mantel is up and stonework for the fireplace should start this week depending on weather. We are looking at 6-8" of snow starting tomorrow. I got some of the rock loaded up today and taken up to the house before the snow starts. Diesel also came out to check out what I was doing. He is really packing on the pounds this winter. I think he's pushing about 210 now.

Are you leaving the walls smooth and just painting them? Is that normal there?

The ceilings look great. It looks like you had a very good drywall crew.
How did your spacers between the Timber frame and the floor joists work out for you when you installed the T&G ceiling. Rick
