Analog is long gone.

Welcome to the digital age.

We are Borg?

There is wisdom in the pallets.

Oh my!, Those darn Pallets again. Can't get away from them.

BTW, it's NOT CO2, which is carbon dioxide, but CO which is the deadly gas, carbon monoxide, to which you refer.

Right, it's CO that's the problem in auto shop asphyxiation. My uncle nearly died from CO poisoning while working in the shop on a tractor during the winter in central Wisconsin. He thought that cracking the bay door was enough--wrong.

However, CO2 (carbon dioxide) is similarly deadly. That's the problem the Apollo 13 astronauts faced after the CO2 scrubber system in the Command Module failed due to the inflight explosion. Also will be a problem for astronauts when they get to the surface of Mars--very low pressure, nearly pure CO2 atmosphere.

The above nearly fatal incident is largely why I find humor about CO poisoning to be out of place. There is too much misunderstanding of the subject and obscuring the facts or making light of the consequences regarding CO can lead some to believe it is something that can be viewed lightly, which can and does cause fatalities due to complacency instead of fear of the possible outcomes.
There is a time and place to joke and this isn't one of those places. Maybe go visit a joke thread to satiate the need.

Is it not possible to take something seriously and also joke a little? Must it be binary?

The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin
or the plumber may seek warmer climes in winter yet these are not
strangers to our land.

I was going to post an emoticon as a reply for this type of attitude but dang, I don't see that one here...

A merry-go-round in a child's playground?

A merry-go-round would represent far, far too much joy for such a serious, serious topic. Although, a merry-go-round does go in a circle, passing by the same point over and over again, with some riders thinking if they just spin faster they'll get some where.

This illustrates the seriousness of CO poisoning. While I prosed about levity in earlier posts, this hits home about CO and paying attention to your appliances and their operation. Yes, some kudo's are due to Coyote on the subject as no laughing matter. While I have been fully aware of the potential of danger of CO, I still say that to get more people engaged to realize the danger... levity is still okay and beneficial to the cause.
