Excellent news ! Take your time with the house - you will need to save as much as possible for the down payment. Much easier to do with a good paying job.
Things will work oout eventually - though maybe not the way you would like. Keep your positive attitude and you will accomplish wonders.

Work went well!! Got to drive a kenworth with a long hood, long frame, and move tankers. The truck had a super 10 which I never driven before but had seen a few people drive them. I did just fine! I'm used to regular 10 speeds and single axles. I had a very tight space I had to get it into the shop. You had to swing everything at the last second bringing the truck into the shop at a 45 degs angle and straightening everything out over a grease pit!! Took me two try's and they were impressed!!! I found It quite fun! We completed dots on two trailers, regroved two tires with a hot knife and replaced a slack adjuster. I found it very enjoyable and I feel like I have a lot of respect with the knowledge I'm bringing with me to the new shop

Sounds like you have a job that is a good fit for you - congratulations. The other companies that tried to insult you with $10 - $12 per hour jobs don't know what they have let "pass them by".
Qualifications and experience win out - sometimes takes a little while to land the job though.

Great, diesel! Yep, in the long haul, it's QUALITY! No matter what ye previous shop did. Those knucklehaids will have it come back to bite them where the sun don't shine. Hold off on ye house buying. Remember, a house is NOT an investment, it's a consumable unless it's a rental income house. In other words, ye're not wasting ye money by renting a while.
