How to cut down a tree!

WOW! :eek::eek:

OP, I'm pretty sure KTAC covers accidents minus your deductible.

Paystar - I didn't finance my tractor either and have KTAC coverage. Maybe that is for US customers...try checking out the sticky post "KTAC" in this section of the forum and ask the question.

Really s219? Wonder if maybe it is different in the U.S.?? My dealer told me I could only get it if I financed.

I just renewed my KTAC policy over the phone a couple of days ago, I own my tractor.

You need a little more rear ballast to move a tree that big. Wink wink.

I bought used and paid cash to an individual. I posted on KTAC thread and he said I certainly could get insurance for it. But I ended up getting the tractor added to.my farm policy. I really don't know which is better or the cost difference.

Can only speak of what was told to me by my Kubota dealer; he did mention "if a tree falls on your tractor..." Yes, it is covered by KTAC.

Wverytime I cut a tree, I worry will this be the time things go wrong! Good that you have KTAC, but there again mine has a $250 deducible.

After such a shocking event like a tree on a tractor, $250 is a walk in the park and a cheap fare.

Wow. Maybe it's a PA thing. :)
I feel a lot better hearing everyone else's stories and I appreciate the support. This truly is a great forum.

Just remember we need pictures along the way with updates on the estimates and then the actual cost to repair.

Could be ... I insure with CNH when I pay for one they don't care if it's tractor, plow, grinder/mixer if it's farm they insure !! IMO they are also reasonable

I remember hearing KTAC not available at all in Canada, so checked site: http://www.ktacinsuranceagency.com/
it says this:
This is a summary of the Kubota-Endorsed Property Damage Insurance. This information is not a complete description of all terms, conditions, and exclusions applicable. Actual coverage is subject to the language of the policy issued. This policy is underwritten and issued by Ohio Indemnity Company. Policy is offered and valid only to residents located in the fifty states of the United States of America. Policy is not available for U.S. districts and territories, Canada, or Mexico.

Don't let them get a leg up and tease you about dropping a tree on it. If need be, say something confident like "Too bad, I was aiming for the bucket" or "I wanted to see how close I could get to the tractor without hitting it and this was my third attempt". Just my two cents here since it helps by keeping you in control and light hearted about it.

In my years I've done a few memorable things like this and the more I looked at the funny side of it the better I felt. It's going to cost an arm and a leg so brace for that conversation as well and be thankful for the insurance.
