good thing you had the kubota insurance....cause i doubt your homeowners insurance would cover it. most policies dont. At least here where i live, as i called 3 of the largest insurers, and NONE would include a tractor without a rider policy. It might have been cause mine is a cab unit with very spendy glass all over the place.
The problem lies in the fact that motorized vehicles generally require their own coverage. Thats why if your garage burned down the auto policy pays for car and the homeowners pays for structure. Other things they wont cover are expensive jewelry, expensive home entertainment systems and guns. these all require separate policies.
Funny thing is my agent at first told me..ya, your policy will cover it. but i made him really check into it. came to find out...nope. If i had a farm policy it would cover it, but man those are spendy.
your Kubota insurance is a specific policy so im sure its all covered. Whats your deductable???
mines set at $250. I could have chosen $1,000 but the difference in monthly fees wasn't very much, so i chose the lower.
My biggest fear is a tree coming down on it in a wind storm. I had the top break off of a massive pine and nearly take out my stone entry garden. it just happened to miss all the good stuff...but took HUGE divits out of the ground. It also managed to miss all my vinyl fencing.
The worst misjudgement in falling a tree happened when i was rushed to drop 2 large trees so the internet guy could aim my microwave dish. He charged by the 1/4 hour, so i rushed myself. I mean this tree was leaning away from the wifes garden by 20-30 degrees, yet it snapped backwards and landed in her garden. It missed the fountain and vinyl fence by inches. The guy on the roof yells "Man, your good. how did you get it to land perfect like that and miss everything"...i said... its all skill. Then i went indoors and changed my shorts. I had to rush and clean out the tree before the wife got home and yelled at me. Man i blew that one bad..
