To be frank -- encourage your customers to look at the added cost of the FEL when they buy a new tractor under 30HP. I looked for years, and burned through MTD pieces of crap. The reason I never bought "real" tractor is because I saw multiple Ford 8/9 sized tractors for sale by the side of the road, but without the FEL it didn't really give me a lot over the MTD other than some speed in mowing.:

Forgive the newbie question, but what is an MTD? A big reason I want the FEL is for its versatility. It's the desire for a FEL that is killing me in my quest for an affordable tractor. It's already an uphill battle when my significant other is thinking <$2,000 riding lawn mower from Sears and I'm thinking of a $10,000+ SCUT because I want the FEL. It's a tough sell.

The BH makes me the envy of my neighbors and I use it. But the FEL is going to allow me to clean up my yard to the point that I will be able to mow all of it this year for the first time since I bought the property.

We sell 99.5% of our small tractors with loaders, and about 30% with the backhoe attachment. If a person does not need a loader and is just mowing, $10k will buy a pretty nice commercial duty zero turn.

MTD is the manufacturer for Yard-Man, Bolens and a bunch of other store brand lawn mowers. The riders you see in front of TSC, Sears, Wal-Mart and most other stores are made by MTD. On a nice little 1 acres piece of property they will probably be fine.

But when you are working three or four acres and having to do other work you can find the MTD small stuff is not really up to the job. But at the same time, buying a smaller tractor without the FEL, doesn't really give you any advantage with buying a 50" inch MTD other than speed. You don't really get more functions than the 38" deck with the MTD class.

Just priced a eMax 25, FEL, 60" MMM, backhoe w/ 12" bucket, out the door w/ tax 0% 84 mo. $298, with NO money down.
they have cash prices w/ rebates, 60 and 72 mo. 0% and regular financing available, my Kubota B2920 w/ FEL, 60" MMM and down payment is $300/ 60. mo., but have three houses now to maintain and want additional tractor which is lower center of gravity to mow slope and need backhoe, just adding backhoe to B2920 is option but would not be able to mow steep slope and would be trailering tractor all over town, third house is for sale so two tractors looks like the best choice.

That works out to $23,600 before PA state tax, which is more than a BX25 similarly equipped, at full MSRP. I thought Mahindra's were less expensive?

(I know the eMax25 is 25hp vs. the BX25's 22, but that's a big difference in price for 3hp!)

got a price on BX25D new from Barlows, delivered to PA less than $20000, so eMax is much more expensive, but does have 5 year warranty, but Price for BX25D included Kubota insurance, I guess you could add extended warranty and still be cheaper.

Interesting... Thanks, Architect. I get all the pros of the Max being beefier and this, and that, but.. There are just so **** many satisfied Kubota BX owners that I have to wonder - "how much is enough?" As for the warranty... I am keeping this thing for 10 years.. I care more about how well it'll hold up outside the warranty period! :)

Fortunately, our local dealer does Kubota and Mahindra, so I can hopefully try them both out.

I went to Dealer again, and if everything is EQUAL, Kubota with 2 year extended warranty and 60 mo. 0% and PA tax $22,260.
The eMax 25 same equipment with 60 mo. and 0% is $22.039 WITH 5 YEAR warranty, plus you can get 72 mo. and 84 mo. 0% to lower payment, price increases $200 for 72 mo. and $500 for 84 mo.
Only unknown is my Kubota price included insurance and no idea of insurance from Mahindra.
Actually starting to lean toward eMax, does have greater loader and backhoe ratings.
Local Kubota prices are even higher, almost $3000..........
All Mahindra are tier 4 and none will have particulate chambers.

just looked closer to todays quote, $913 cheaper as of April 1.

Before purchase look at utube i seen a Kubota hopping all around running a backhoe
You are talking to a diehard Kubota guy (b7100 i put power steering on it) love it but that said
Seeing the new kub tractors they are lacking. The max 25 compares to my old kub but with factory p/s more hp backhoe tiller box blade Over max is better in my opinion

Good info, thanks!

The thing that may be minor to some, but a possible deal-breaker for me is the ground clearance with the MMM in place. I remember reading Kubota is rather proud of that.. I'm going to measure my Massey, and then look at both the BX and the eMax and see.. I don't take the mower deck off as much as I should, and it drags on things around here..
