ShieldArc's Amazon killer deal on Everlast???

Im not sure, but I think my my welding leads are 2/0 ( bought them at an auction 20 years ago, and they have been stashed away in the basement ever since. Will the 35/70 MM work?
I still am not able to figure out metric measurements:banghead:

I stopped at the local welding supplier here in the area, he said he could order DINSE, but he stocks tweco

Also while I was there, I looked at cutting outfits.
I looked at Harris and Smith

I have always thought Harris is the better setup, but the Harris is a 6 mo warranty and the Smith is 2 year.

Opinions?

I was ordering that exact set (also ordered Swiss family Robinson at the same time) while you were sending this post, you know what they say, GMTA

It doesn't qualify for Prime, so 6 days for delivery, oh well, gives me time to pipe and run a proper circuit for it

Amazon.com: Welding Cable Quick Connector Pair DINSE-Style 300Amp-400Amp (#1-2/0) 50-70 SQ-MM: Home Improvement

These are what I ordered - I can't figure out the dinse idea of metric either - nothing I could find on these is either 35 or 70 mm. the male plug's main diameter is about 1/2 inch, which is roughly 12.7 mm.

Check out the pic on that link, it at least gives some useful dimensions... Steve

A 50 70 is may be too long as it seems I remember that these may stick out further but will still fit. The measurement has to do with the cross section dimensions of the cable...somehow. Here's a link to the 50.

Here's a link to DINSE itself and it explains things.

I use the Dinse to Tweco adapters.

Do like Shield Arc and just buy Dinse to Tweco adapters to put on the machine. You don't have to buy genuine Tweco and you'll save a bunch of money. The Tweco style are all interchangeable and available just about anywhere. If they get loose, take a screw driver and widen the male plug. I've seen so many welders not realize that's what the slot is for and tape the darn things together.

OK, so now I need to decide how to wire it
I see people saying 50 amp breaker
I see people saying #4 wire
Code book says for 3 - #4 wires I need 1-1/2 conduit
I was going to go THHN

I already have a 50 amp recep and plug

Is this how I should proceed?
With duty cycle and so on and so forth I am a bit cornfused

If you want to dedicate the outlet to "welder only" status, code will let you get away with much thinner wire (probably #10) than needed for a general 50A branch circuit (#6). Look in the section for welders, should be Article 630. Ultimately, it comes down to the duty cycle of the welder at the amperage limit.
