Murphy, you were in my neck of the woods. I'm about 20 miles south of Marianna, just off Highway 71. Hope you didn't have to drive straight through.

Larro

Yep drove straight home 15 hours moving at 85+ on I65 thru Alabama. Construction in Kentucky, Detour cut thru by a Jim Beam Distillery. In laws lived in Carryville .

well, sitting in the parking lot of S&S Apache RV in Jackson MS, where I've had a nice chat with Calvin, the yard boss, who comes in early to open up and he let me in the back gate. Big place, mostly Holiday Rambler and now they just took on Winnebago so hopefully they will be somewhat eager to please. Time for another cup of coffee and a big dose of patience.

Mac, Layton Smith sends you his personal regards, as he is still here and a real gentleman.
Not doing well on the rv, they think it needs a new slide motor, which surprises me, and they don't have it in stock.

headed home. The mfg of both the leveling motor and the slide motor says they have none in stock and on backorder, no eta. Absurd. Now I head back home. These people here were so nice, tried everything...but if they can't get parts, and Winnebago was zero help, I'm stuck.

Let me tell you daug, you could not be at a better place for RV service than S&S! If you can, I'd say just hang around until they can get parts to fix it. Which, I hope can happen quickly for you! Tell Mr. Smith hello for me. I haven't seen him since way bavk when I bought the trailer from him, a Midas. Pulled it with a green '72 Plymouth 360 cubic inch V8 all over the place!

Anyway, hope ye get'er done!

Bummer news, Drew
Grasping here, but anyway the motor can be removed and possibly rebuilt?

Wow, this doesn't end good. Sorry to hear your heading back home.

WOW....bummer...I don't know of anyone who is more careful and forward thinking than you are...and it's not like you are with an obscure brand or anything but top notch dealers...and several of them...and done due diligence in contacting the manufacturer as well. Such well laid plans...I'm sooooooo sorry this happened...guess this stuff breaks often and parts are obscure...a well kept secret. No wonder the local RV dealer near me has something like 60 service bays and proudly displays the number on a roadside banner for all to see.
I really feel for you...know it's a great disappointment to have your trip delayed so ignominiously. Am hoping that things turn your way again....and SOON!! Best wishes, buddy! I miss your progress reports already!
