New trailer build

One thing I like to do is get some stainless steel bolts (usually 1/4-20 1 1/4") and weld them to the steel frame near where all the lights and brakes are going to be plus one near the tongue. They make for a ground that will never fail. I do run ground wires as well but having grounding studs that will never rust makes for an easier install and trubleshooting down the road.

I like that, great tip!

Very impressive! Are the unpainted areas where you plan on welding the deck to the frame? Just curious.

Looks better than a factory bought one. I bet the paint will last longer than those. Great Job.Ive been building trailers (light) for years but all I ever had was used and discarded metal. I always wanted to be able to see what one of mine would have looked like if I had the materials.
Im wondering on the lights? LED? and how they should old up to the bouncing and jarring. ?
Again Great Job..

Three coats of paint, then finish deck welding and then another coat. But it's a trailer and will get banged and chipped. Will probably need a touchup every year.
No just regular lights.

Got the deck metal on one side. The 3# expanded metal is tough to cut. Don't have Torch or plasma so had to cut with a zip disk. This deck is very stiff and doesn't go bong like diamond plate with every step.

Finished putting deck on this morning. That 3# expanded is definitely a pain to cut. Two 4 x 8 sheets completed the deck with almost zero waste.
Now the painting has to be finished. Looks like spraying will waste lots of paint. Lots of air to paint.

Nice work! Didn't see it mentioned, but where did you source the weld on 'D' ring tie downs?
