I hate new fuel cans so here is what I did.

I installed a vent similar to what were used on the older cans in a 5 gal diesel can yesterday. While not as fast as the aforementioned Tuff Jug, it speeded things up considerably. You can buy them in eBay pretty cheap, just search for gas can vents.

I use a golf tee for a vent hole plug on my plastic gas cans. Drill the appropriate sized hole in the rear of the hollow handle, shove in a golf tee. Had to rinse one can out with gas after drilling, some debris got inside, it came out easy.

Drill hole...screw in right size sheet metal screw for a couple of threads. All my cans are like that.

Each to their own, but I don't have much luck with those flexible spouts. It seems they always spring back and throw fuel all over the place. I do, however, like the "1/2 replacement push in vent" that comes in the kit. I wish those were available to purchase without the other items.

You can find the little yellow vents on E bay very inexpensively, I just bought a dozen of them for about $7.

I have these, and really like them.. You can't buy them anymore however, they were one of the earlier "enviro" type nozzles from Blitz. All gone. I like them because of the ease of control of the fluid flow and they seal well. I will be sad when they break. I did modify them of course, by pulling the locking guts out with a pair of needle nose pliers and cutting off the ratchet tightening stud on the can. This makes them a joy to use. I set the can on the hood on an old towel to prevent scratching the hood. I am holding no weight and the spout fits the Kioti fill spout perfectly. You just stand there with one hand on the nozzle lever and let if fill, when you see the level of diesel is going to over run the tank, then let go of the lever. Easy Peazy.

I lift in 3 stages, from the ground to right front tire, can sitting on its bottom, lift to loader arm, can sitting on its bottom, reposition the hands, both hands now, left hand on top handle and right hand on side handle. Lift to hood on the towel with can on its side, nozzle pointing down over filler neck. Not a lot of strain for this old man in the lift, and no strain at all while filling.

For an EPA can, these actually work very well. Work bought them for us to carry on our service trucks.
