Exactly my thought, on both of your remarks

Short pieces are most probably for automated heaters so the auger doesnt jam. I want longer pieces of about a foot long, to feed my workshop heater. OR i'll feed it with an old fashioned coal shovel because the chunks are about the same size. Maybe its even easier to just shovel...

Thanks, I thought they must be for some sort of automative feeder, but have never seen anything that would work with that size pieces.

It's too bad that lawyers and insurance companies basically run our country so we don't have any chance of seeing those sold here commercially....

Maybe when I get better at welding I'll see if I can figure something out.

Heck, I'd even settle for the weighted splitting head with spring assist rather than sit or stand at a noisy hydraulic gas engine driven splitter.

I have looked at a few branch loggers on line and I like the TR 70 I wish they would sell them here. My thought is that if you could use a burnable bag, you could stick the whole bag into a wood boiler. It would also eliminate waste of the branches.
