Moving to the Farm

Take some cardboard and cut a close profile of the tank at one of the legs. Be sure to reach the middle of the tank. Now fill it up and watch how much it deforms. Empty and add what ever bracing you want and check it again. Even with the bands it will deform some. The weight causes it to squat for a lack of better term.

I don't know anything about the tanks but what about running a 2" ratchet strap in place of each band? It seems like it would accomplish the same purpose.

Do this in addition to the T-posts. If it doesn't hold it's shape well enough, you are not out anything. You can always use the strap and posts for something else.

I like that idea, I will ratchet strap it and t post it. If I get several years out of it I will more than have gotten my money out of it and hopefully by then I have my swimming pond in the back yard for water storage.

Very nice land.

Looks good. Did you bale on shares? Looked like that would make more than two bales. How many acres was it?

No, we have had someone bale it the last few years to save us from having to cut it. In the past I didn't have animals that would need hay over the winter. I had asked them to leave me a couple bales this year. I wasn't here when they finished, but I figure they got between 25 and 30 bales. I hope to get more when they get another cutting out of it. The long-term plan is to have most of it fenced in so my animals can eat it and I can rotationally pasture them.
