Try selling an Everlast on Craigslist when your needs change.
You are correct there , but IMHO the OP purchased a decent machine that even if he were to give it away at the end of the warranty period it will have only cost him $20 per month. Terry;)

Why would he be thinking of selling it when he just bought it?

I assume that was a resale value question? Everlast does have good resale value. Many customers that I know that choose to selll have gotten near what they paid for their unit. In some cases OVER what they paid as our unit costs have risen. 4 years ago this unit was selling just under a 1000.00 retail. Now it is selling for 1350.00. But even lets say if if they bought it for 1000.00 and sold it for 500.00 now. That's only a 500.00 hit. If you bought a 3000.00 machine from another brand, and used it for 4 years, you may see a 30% depreciation, which would be a 1000.00 hit. But that's not typically the case as our units do go for more.

I have customers frequently ask if we know of or have used units for sale. They are in demand. People post them on our forum and else where like Amazon and sell them quite quickly.

I personally wouldn't buy a used unit of anything without first making sure it didn't have those problematic Mosfet's.

Mark,

I've been watching e-bay for used everlast welders and have seen a few sell. A couple were close to new and brought about 80% of retail. Another sold for about 50% of retail.

Here is the next one I am watching. Sounds like they dont' even know what model it is but it's new???
Everlast Powertig 250 EX Welder | eBay

Well this is a counterfeit product. Serial numbers aren't even our series of serial numbers. We've never produced a product like this, although it looks like DC 3 in 1 welder of some sort. Can't tell if its mosfet or igbt technology. It does not have the digital display which all our units used since we started. The paint looks like it is a paint over. There's no side markings either or rear/side panel specifications, which all our units have had.

My guess is that someone ordered a cheap unit off ebay from China or from LOTOS or somewhere thinking it was the "same as Everlast" and when they got it it wasn't or it was broken. So, they ordered an Everlast 250EX from Amazon, took the old welder, repainted it, (also the lower part on the front looks sprayed over to cover the original name/info) and sent it back in the original 250EX box with the 250EX sticker from a new unit that we use on the upper part of the plastic panel(which sometimes comes loose) and restuck it on the repainted unit. I imagine they got their real welder for a couple hundred bucks all said and done...Whatever, though, it was crooked, and this guy is a salvage guy stuck with it. It does have a stick holder from our new 250EX units...but no TIG torch or plasma torch, which were probably junk to begin with and he kept the Everlast TIG torch and sent the new style stick torch along because he was only going to TIG weld...and it is sitting on top of a weber grill box...but the clam shell box appears to be ours...not sure.

Also notice that the right DINSE connector housing is flipped around backwards with the outside turned in, which tells me something is wrong. DINSE connectors have been robbed off the ends of the cables too which tells me he/she also wanted to keep them.

Sounds like one to stay away from. Thanks for the info.
