Nice job on the quick coupler Paul and 7 lakes. My buddy has one on his excavator and and it makes changing buckets a breeze. 7lakes you might want to upload the file to this thread so ten years from now people won't be asking for it:laughing:
I dont know how to upload a file. Does anyone know how?
I used the paperclip upload button. It doesn't like the .dxf file upload. It says it is an invalid file type!
Ok, I made a google drive for the files. They are not drawn to deal with kerf of plasma or other torch. If you are using a CNC plasma, remember to deal with your kerf and start points. My kerf was about .1, so my offset was . 05. The holes were plasma cut purposly too tight so I could bore them out to 1.02. The 2 rectangle cross pieces are important to get right. One measured 1.5 X 3.9 the other is 2 X 3.9 you shouldn't need my vectors for that. The 3.9 is vital to both fit over the bucket and also fit within the mechanical thumb area. I used 3/8 steel for everything except the extra spacers around the bucket area. I used .25 steel for that. I used 2-1" X 6.25 hitch pins and lathed off the collar on one of them. Then used 2-1" shaft collars on the lathed one. I will have to make one of those again for any other attachments I make as they are a sacrificial addition to the system and this does not alter the tractor as purchased in any way. There were not any tricks to welding it, that part goes pretty well.
So far I have only uploaded .dxl files, but if there are other file types wanted, let me know and I will add them to the drive. Or, if you want one made, my students are thinking about starting to make them and then you can purchase to support my class. I am a high school shop teacher. It is looking like they will be about $150-200.
