Been using it for decades for my boots!

As has been said before this: fuse the ends with a match and you're GTG.

The only thing I ever used parachute cord for was flying kites. About 48-49 years ago, we got into a little kite flying competition with big enough kites and flying them high enough that parachute cord was the only thing we found that was strong enough to not break and still long enough and light enough to let our kites as high as we wanted.

I just use the OE laces and if they break after awhile, I tie them back together and keep on goin'. When the steel toe leather wears thru, I cover the toe with JB Weld and keep on goin'. But now, at my age, the knees will wear out before the laces. :D

Speaking of shoelaces, what is it with the laces that come with sneakers? They just. will. not. stay. tied. Even double-knotted, they still manage to loosen up after a couple hours. Replacement laces seem to be fine. I'm convinced it's a plot by shoelace makers to force people to buy new ones.

I wear sneakers nearly all the time, but I learned about ibungee stretch laces several years ago (March 25, 2009 to be specific), so I don't tie laces anymore. I have 2 pair of Brooks sneakers with the ibungee laces, so one pair is more than 5 years old, still has the same ibungee laces put in the day I bought them and still good. I don't even take the laces out when I pull the inner sole out to throw them in the washing machine.

Of course I bought mine locally (the 38" ones) instead of from Amazon.

Where would you find this parachute cord?

I'm not certain this is parachute cord but with a knot tied it makes one good bore snake for a .22.

My old feet have quit the boots and for all other foot wear Velcro for me.

Where would you find this parachute cord?

I bought mine at Sportsman's Guide, a mail order sporting goods place. Get on their email list and you'll get lots of discount coupons. It was not very costly for a large amount.
