$2.50 for gas here. cheapest I've seen it in quite awhile. Diesel $3.80, a little better than 50%.
50% more has to be gouging or tax. It can't be supply and demand.
Taxes are a portion of the price of fuel everywhere. NJ has one of the lowest state taxes on gas in the nation; IDK where we stand on diesel fuel tax, but at a station in Hamburg they have off-road for $.20 less/gal. I'd be curious. Gas yesterday $2.43 at Quick Check, diesel $3.15; 30% more.
A side note: the difference between Regular 87 and High Test 93 varies by station. Used to be $.30/gal. Now it's .35, .40, even .50 more per gallon. This matters 'cuz my turbo car only uses 93 octane. BP is cheapest even tho their Regular is more than other stations.
