We are having price wars here in town and gas (not diesel) got down to $1.75 yesterday. Never thought I'd see it that cheap again.

3.29 for off-road here. 2.99 for premium gas...PA over charges for everything.

Just back from a drive from NE Mississippi to Alexandria, Va. Lowest price I saw for diesel was $2.90. When I filled up today in Alexandria, Va I filled for $3/gallon.

Diesel fuel mpg on my trip back towing my Hudson 18' trailer, small load (< 2000 lbs on the trailer), full truck bed was 14.1 mpg. That's with my F350 7.3 L dually going about 65 to 70 most of the 820 miles. About 21 cents /mile w/ $2.99 fuel. With my '09 VW JSW TDI I average about 44mpg, that's about 6.8 cents/mile for fuel. I'm pleased with the diesel advantage.

Follow up to my last post(#55) a week ago. Diesel has dropped a little $3.25 to $3.15 but regular gas has gone from $2.75 to $2.45. Spokane, WA

$2.87 at Murphy's in Kilgore, Tx yesterday. Unless we see a recession or worse, diesel prices will be higher because industry runs on diesel. Trucks, railroads and aircraft use basicially the same fuel and they have to have it. People can usually cut back on pleasure driving in cars and the fuel mileage of cars has gone up quite a bit so less gasoline is needed. ULSD has also caused the price of diesel to stay up.
