How's this for service. My dealer only had a 2wd loaner available. My salesman told me he can bring me a 46-48 hp hst 4wd with a grapple, pallet forks, BB and brush hog. He showed up this morning. Here's the thing that blew me away...he brought me his personal tractor. He knew I needed 4wd and took care of me. So far I am beyond happy with my dealer even though the tractor problems are a pain.

Not very good and you have the patience of Jobe. Dropping off a loaner would be sending up more red flags and doesn't bode well for your particular tractor. Can you keep it until Spring? I wouldn't buy a used tractor with the problems you have had and paying for a new one while driving the salesman personal one isn't what you signed up and are paying for.

Have you made your first payment yet?

Call the finance company ASAP and tell them you still don't have your tractor and won't be paying on it until a new one is delivered. This will require a new contract with the new serial numbers. Call your dealer and tell them to bring out a new contract when they deliver your new tractor.

They lost their good status as a dealer when they dropped off the wrong tractor with the wrong transmission. Obviously their attention to detail is far from a top priority and become suspect in my eyes as trying to pull the wool over yours.

Get a new tractor, you're paying for one. Good luck!

Good response at least from your salesman. And very likely the dealer is also caught in a tight spot with a problem tractor that he didn't bargain for either. Deere & Co in the pipeline above the dealer likely doesn't jump every time a dealer wants something, but will work out problems that come up as they can and in due time.

Rusty, if you are happy with the dealer and its staff trying hard to work with you, that is the main point. IMO.
Hope the dealer gets your tractor problem resolved.

Hang in there! Sounds like you've got both a good dealer and salesman. It seems like you'll get things straightened-out eventually.

My dealer has been excellent about taking care of some small problems on my new tractor; things I wish we hadn't had to deal with, but I still feel as if I got the right tractor for my needs. Time will tell.

I think you mentioned earlier that you had to pump the brakes once to get the pedal up; Yesterday I had to start doing that. I suppose it's something I could get used to, like when I learned to drive at the age of 10 in a 1946 Willys Jeep, but I'll be calling my dealer about it after Christmas. Does anyone have any new information about this issue?

I don't know how your finding where Tractordata states the 5055E is built in the USA as all I can find is India.
