I believe a 3pt. rear mount snow blower and bucket loader on the front is one of the best snow removal combinations anyone could dream up.
The blower insures that snow banks along the edge of driveway are kept low through out the winter.
The bucket on the front is handy for any frozen snow banks that maybe encountered, especially banks at the end of the driveway as it exits to the main road.
Slush from the main road, (a result of snow/ice removal chemical used by the highway dept.) can result in frozen snow banks that a blower or snow blade can't move.

Different types snow when plowing different attack plans..great advice has been given.
Also condenser what transmission range to use.
If the snow deep on the first run,you could set plow at 45 degrees plow ditch sides first couples times than plow as you would.
Never been fond pushing snow w/rear scraper blade for there no trip springs.

You may want to go and look at some videos on you tube as you can see others doing what you will be doing. You can get some good hints watching others . Just google tractors plowing snow etc. etc. .

Nice set-up,I have a very similar one.I use the rear blade to "pull"snow from buildings/door ways ect.
As advised don't push with your rear blade,it can get expensive quickly.
Heavy new snow I would plow with just the front blade angled as much as you can.The rear blade works well to finish plow/clean-up.
Push your banks back as far as you can before they freeze.
With the amount of snow you get;a snow blower should be in your future.

If the rear blade will offset and it is light snow I think it would be great to angle front blade to the right and offset and angle rear blade to the right for an extra foot or two of width... similar to a wing plow. Of course this probably wouldn't work in deep snow without a much heavier tractor.

Push with you front plow, keeping it raised slightly and simultaneously pull with your back blade. As long as your gravel base is firm and/or frozen, it will scape the snow down to the gravel without removing too much. This will provide excellent traction and minimize the need to sand. In the spring, using the back blade, pull all the gravel plowed to the edge of the road back into the centre, then turn the blade around and drag it to level the gravel. Works like a charm. Just can't do any of it while the gravel is too soft.

Guys

Fantastic tips!! THXS

I have just added to my "master" manual that I am writing with all the tips about the tractor.

We are about 9000 ft and snow accumulation can be high, but of course not all years are the same. I have never used the FEL so I took notes of tips in how to use it.

In reference to the snowblower, I though initially to get one and the dealer told me to try first the front snowblade/FEL. The road is steep and heavy snow accumulates mainly in two small sessions of the road. If I need it they will deliver one to me. I can see the benefits of the snowblower (Hec, yours look great and brand new who made yours?). I did not know about rear mount snowblower, I can see the advantage of having the FEL attach, but also is a long road and nice to see what is a front, not a decision to make now.

I will turn the rear blade 180 degrees. I was clueless that I could break the rear triangle pushing.

I will plow real wide, 3 runs trying to keep the road wide keeping the blade in an angle and the real blade also

I did not know that he shoes are adjustable, I have to go a look at it an have it about 1 in ch of lifting

I have to go all through all the messages few more times and digest the whole thing, and read them back after the first storm.
I did not expect such as huge and details reply to my question. Just a big thanks.

I think if I was in your shoes, I would try the blade route for the current winter and then IF finances would allow in the early summer buy a front mount snow blower, provided you have a mid PTO. Your laneway is pretty long for looking over your shoulder and backing up with a rear mount.

True, but he could always get a "rear pull blower", Ideal for the type of road he has.
A rear pull blower that runs off the pto would be a good choice in your case, their more expensive but well worth the looking over your shoulder types.
Google "rear pull snow blowers", and decide for yourself. Personally, I would never go back to a rear push type.
