What do you do with your forks?

/ What do you do with your forks? #81
I have also been looking for a set of forks I found northern tool has skid steer forks for $350. I also found on another form someone converted their Kubota to ssqa for around $450. The model number from the dealer was l2230a. You would also convert your bucket to fit but northern tool sells weld on plates for $150. So you could convert to ssqa and get forks for around 1000.

What's your lift capacity?! I look at those loads of logs and can't help think they weigh more than my tractor!

I just used mine to unload a new air compressor from the back of the truck.

LOL i think thats a definite possibility according to tractordata.com i can lift 2 of your tractors at their base weight to full height no problem :) the first picture those logs are almost all the loader wanted. 2700 lbs pallets of shingles were not a problem the 3000 lb pallets 42"x48" of decorative stone that i pulled off the semi truck for the neighbor that had to come of length wise were darn heavy. i only had about 500 lbs on the 3 pt and my rear tires popped off the ground when i set them down for transport the rears popped off the ground for a second.
here are the specs
Lift Capacity (Bucket bottom mid point)
Height hole 2866 lbs. (1300 kg)
Power hole 2976 lbs. (1350 kg)
(U) Lift Capacity (Bucket pivot pin, max height)
Height hole 3990 lbs. (1810 kg)
Power hole 4144 lbs. (1880 kg)
(V) Lift Capacity (800 mm forward, max height)
Height hole 2524 lbs. (1145 kg)
Power hole 2855 lbs. (1295 kg)
Loader Operational Specifications
(X) Lift Capacity (800 mm forward, 1500 mm height)
Height hole 3384 lbs. (1535 kg)
Power hole 3957 lbs. (1795 kg)

The last pic was lifting my box blade out of my truck so I had to work up a makeshift counter weight.

SSQA is a must for me since I swap between my bucket and forks a lot.

I have my forks on most of the time, loads of uses for them. I recently switched over to a SSQA adapter, it's worth every penny.

Ordered a set of Titan forks on Friday. This thread certainly helped with that decision. I've been waffling about what to get ever since I bought the tractor this past summer. Honestly should have spent the money way earlier, would have helped immensely with log stacking. Can't wait to remove the bucket and get the forks on!

You will like the Titan Forks and great Titan service. I ordered a set of Titan 72" fork extensions for my forks. Occasionally I need to pick up something wider than 48" fork length.

Clamped a couple of 5' 2x4's, to forks, to unload newly blasted and painted diesel tank stand from my trailer. The clamps were a PIA and made simple project difficult so, ordered the Titan extensions.

Forks are awesome I'm sure you won't regret them.

Forks are awesome I'm sure you won't regret them. Did you get clamp on or quick attach? Only asking as the clamp on will significantly limit your lift capacity.

I ordered the quick attach. If I'm going to spend the money, might as well do it right the first time. That was the lesson I took away from this thread.

Depending on how proficient I am with them for my homeowner logging operation, the next mod may be a thumb/grapple attachment for both bucket and forks. I have an unending supply of glacially deposited granite that I'd like to use for naturescaping after our home is constructed, figured the Thumb attachment would make life a lot easier while doing that. The third function cost is prohibiting that purchase at the moment.

JR;

Understand the $$ situation but, if you can get 3rd function sorted out (W.R. Long is great) you should really consider a real grapple. Grapple lid on bucket or forks has many trade offs that you may not be happy with in the end.

My 2 cents worth.

I'd consider it if our tax return is 3x what we're anticipating😀.

Your $0.02 is certainly valid. I'd seriously consider a lightweight grapple, but haven't found anything that fits the bill for a quick attach.
