No worries here. I'm anxious to see your progress on the property. That type of work is good for the Soul, regardless of what tractor you have.
When I bought the 20 acres I now live on it was a disaster. Totally overgrown in scrub brush and cedar trees with junk cars and scrap iron scattered everywhere. I cleaned it all up and built a house on it using an old Super C Farmall in the beginning and finishing with an old 861 Ford. I look back on that work with satisfaction and good memories. Sure there were times when I wanted more tractor. But it sure energized my initiative and creativity to get the job done.
One time I dug up and moved a 4ft square red rock. Moved it 150yds so the wife could have it by the driveway. Hitched the Ford to the rock using the 3pt. Hitched the 4wd pickup to the front of the tractor. Wife in the pickup spinning rooster tails of dirt clods past my head. Me on the tractor scratching and clawing with the front tires 2ft off the ground. Good times. Wouldn't have a story to tell if I'd had a large tractor or backhoe.....![]()
Just proves the point that a 20HP SCUT can usually do anything you need......It'll just take a little more time and effort. You wouldn't believe some of the things I did with a little craftsman lawn tractor before I bought either of my bigger tractors.
