Believe have gotten about as far as I can. Have shopped across this state and in one two states away. The results are a little over $12,300 off sticker and $8000 on my trade. Part of the rebate deal is an extra $1500 trade in allowance so essentially $9500 trade. If you add in the 5% sales tax being saved by reducing the sale price by $9500 you add another $475 taking total on trade to $9995. I might could get a little more out of it, but am willing to give up some to not have to deal with anyone coming back if it quits a week later. Have requested a new revised Buyers Order and current interest rate. One of the rebates was pending using FMCC. Need to evaluate their rate versus rebate.

Can't vouch for all states, but in CA, the BUYER pays the sales tax, not the seller. So if I trade in a vehicle, the dealership has to deal with it. If I sell it myself, the new buyer is responsible for all taxes and registration costs.
What tcartwri is saying is that in most states you (the seller of the old vehicle) will pay sales tax on the difference between the trade in price and the price of the new vehicle, so if you trade a vehicle in for $10k and pay $30k for the new vehicle, you only pay sales tax on $20k wheras if you sell your old vehicle for $11k in a private sale and buy a new one for $30k, you have to pay sales tax on the whole $30k (a difference of $800 worth of tax here in NY where the sales tax is around 8%).

Using Ford Financing might also give you an extra $$$ off. Fill out the credit app, get approved, drive away. When the first payment comes, go to your local Credit Union and refi. It will buy you 2 months of payments, you get the extra discount, and the CU will likely be a lower rate.

The only loser in that deal is the dealership, as Ford will not pay them if the loan doesn't stay on the books for a period of time. Beware of any sales tactic that says you need to make X number of payments before the refi. That's just a trick to keep the dealership paid.

Exactly. In MS it is 5%. By the time you consider that plus rebates it takes my $8000 to $9975.

When we bought our 2014 F150, we went with the Ford motor credit to get the extra incentives. The interest was a ridiculous 5.9%, but we only had to stay with it for something like 90 days. After the 90 days, we refinanced with a local credit union for a rate of 2.34%, that saves us approx. $5300 over the course of the loan.

The search is over. Very conveniently took care of most everything electronically and total time in dealership 30-45 minutes. Learned that can refinance loan anytime after first payment is made. Have already found option to get a full point or more lower rate. Thanks to all who contributed comments and tips during this process. This truly is a great forum and great group of members.
