I am a lurker on this thread too, I like hearing and learning about your way of life in the dessert, even what you may consider mundane. But I would understand if you decide to let it end too, its your choice!

Sort of though about letting this tread die. Lot of water under the bridge since my last post.

Misery loves company, Jim. When you tell about working on your trucks, or the pump, or the fence, and the dogs, it's nice to know someone else has the same kind of adventures I do. 'Cept you have more and better ways for pullin' your buns out of the fire, and I like learnin' from ya.

I live alone, too, and wouldn't have it any other way. I'd go crazy if a youngster started hangin' around, let alone moved in.

Sorry to hear about Little Boy. Sounds like Dog is a poor replacement, but maybe he'll come around. Sounds like he might have some border collie in him and if so, he can't be all that dumb. Maybe he's just sand baggin' ya?

OK long as you folks enjoy reading about things not very exciting..

Snake #7 today - 3 Rattlers - 4 Friendlies. To days snake was a shinny black king snake. Very pretty.
Mother Bobby didn't see him, he just crossed the yard. Am fairly sure rattlers have done the same.

As far as fixing the fence goes, there is one small spot that I think Riley & dog are going over it. Hope to get both back in the yard then try to close it.
Guess one or the other will find a new place to dig under it.

Mother Bobby has some hot spots on her butt. Feed store tomorrow & get some "Blue-Kote" & maybe some thing else.
Also need milk, beer & tomilies.

Grandson may be gone soon. Lay around eat, play with computer phone & drink my beer. His grand mother no longer wants him around either.
