Kubota BX2360 Transmission Fan

Just noticed that 3 of the 10 blades on my transmission fan have broken off. How serious an issue is this? I know this repair will be expensive. Everything seems to running fine.

Hi. Welcome.

The fan is very important to keeping your trans cool. Three blades is not that critical. The replacement is not that difficult. I replace the fan on my BX in about 30 minutes. I think the fan blade cost $26.

Might want to install a shield to protect the fan. On my BX it is a simple sheet metal bolted to the frame to deflect brush from getting to the fan.

I saw a file on how to replace the fan that seemed to indicate that one would need to disassemble just about everything.

That is fast considering what I've seen others have to do.

Not sure if your BX2200 is the same setup as this procedure but I doubt I could do this in less than an hr.

Certainly did not need to remove the fenders. Just the floorboard and seat. The fan is flexible so slipped in without a problem. Looking at it now I think it could be replaced from the bottom as well just easier with the floorboard out of the way.

Agreed, three blades are not critical, but disagree on the difficulty of replacement. It is fairly easy on the BX2200, but is a real bear on the BXxx60 Series, we have a BX2200 and BX2660. On the Series 60 the engine has to be moved, some just split the collar and glue it on or use a clamp, there are some old threads on this.

The BX2200 is pretty much a totally different machine than the BX2360. Different engine, trans, frame, body, front axle, brakes, 3 point hitch, hydraulics, loader,.... The fan is about the only part that will interchange.
Replacing the fan is a completely different job.
