Kubota's Headquarters Moving from California to Texas

There are 3 different Oaklands. The money in the hills where all the high dollar homes are, the business area around the lake where it's thick with cops and office buildings, and the ghetto where you never want to be after dark. I used to drive for UPS and Airborne Express and you always wanted to make those deliveries before noon. After that, those who cause problems start to wake up and problems happened.

Very true... the trouble makers don't get out of bed before noon... how can they when they have been out all night.

Could be why I get my UPS after 5 pm?

When I sold my Dozer... had a couple of conversations with the buyer over the phone... it was a 4 hour trip for him to come and see it... he told me he almost turned around when he got to the bottom of the freeway off ramp... then he decided to go a little further thinking this could be a set up... anyway... I am exactly 1 mile from the off ramp and as he kept driving, he started to think OK... it is starting to improve and when he reached the house he felt comfortable getting out of the car... neat homes with green lawns and such..

I really have the best neighbors and always have... some are real sociable... others keep to themselves... if there is a problem or something suspicious we are all on the same page... we had a neighborhood meeting when the last home was broken into... one of the neighbors is retired old school AT&T and said he could put up street cams for materials... within the hour... every person on the street had put $100 into the hat... and a week later a concrete 12' high custom steel pole with two camera's was at the corner of my property plus another one perfect height to get driver and license plates coming and going...

As an aside... not sure what he would do today... the lawns are all going brown... we are on mandatory rationing and have been asked to limit daily consumption to 35 gpd per person per household.

Does Texas have any metro areas with dangerous reputations?

Our metro areas have their bad parts of town but the same goes with the rural towns. I think it's the same all over, if you want to find trouble it's not hard to find anywhere anymore. Some cities and towns just hide it better.

There is nothing like Oakland or Compton in Texas. HS

Since Kubota is not moving from Oakland or Compton, so what?

The FBI's List of the Most Dangerous Cities in Texas | Texas Monthly

Houston is the only one of the five most populous cities in the state to place high on the list, at #3. The types of crimes reported in Houston are fairly different from what you’ll find out west, though: While Odessa and Lubbock both go heavy on assault crimes, Houston’s robbery rate, at 233 per 100,000, is nearly double that of the top cities on the list. Its murder rate, as mentioned above, is 5.9 per 100,000.

Beaumont/Port Arthur is a different MSA from Houston, but the nearby cities share a high murder rate. The two cities have the highest murder rates in Texas, in fact, with Beaumont facing an 8.6 per 100,000 figure.

I haven't really been to a lot of the big cities in Texas and I try to avoid them as much as possible. Except for the airport in the DFW airport, there is no reason to go there. The population for Tyler is around 100,000 people and that's plenty big enough for me!!!

Texas can't accept Kubota USA because when they secede from the union, it will be from a foreign country again. :D

It's not about how long the ships were but how wide. A beam of 106' was max, now with locks widened the new classes of wide beam ships can go through. HS

It is both, length and width! The canal in Nicaragua when done will handle boats that are larger yet.
