As I mentioned, I did that with my 18v Ryobi batteries.

I used one of the old blue Ryobi flashlights. With a little sanding, to make the parts fit precisely one inside the other, it looks like I never did anything to it.

Had a lot of fun with my boss. I convinced him for a while, that Ryobi 18v batteries actually fit on his Lincoln grease gun.

My shop is air plumbed. The compressor is in the rear of the shop inside the bathroom so it's inconvenient to shut off the valve. So I wired the compressor to only have electrical power when the shop lights are on. Shutting the lights off as you leave the shop shuts the compressor off, so if there's a break when I'm not there it'll just drain the tank and not burn the compressor up trying to maintain pressure.

My upright air compressor is upright up stairs, so mine is more inconvenient to shut the valve off, it's hard wired to the breaker panel down stairs, so when I'm done throwing hammers, I just shut the breaker off. I told my son the new rule is, the breaker panel door stays open when air breaker is on, breaker panel door is shut when breaker is off, that should stop the 2:00 am air compressor wake up call.

Problem with air powered guns, they SOUND like they are delivering grease, even when they aren't! I HATE that, if the grease is cold or the zerk isn't taking grease well, the gun still sounds like it's greasing fine...

Three words, what's auto drain?

It is a valve that replaces the drain cock on the tank.

Harbor Freight sells one that activates the drain each time the compressor cycles.

Mine is electronically operated. It is set to drain for 3 seconds every 45 minutes. Weldors use such a drain when plasma cutting and needing extra dry air.

When my Lincoln runs out of grease it pumps much faster. If the Zerk is plugged then it pumps very slowly. Plugging is not so much of a problem with high air pressures.

That was my original plan. But the wholesaler I bought all my electrical from said "why don't you use a relay?" I had actually never thought about it. So now I don't have to worry about whether my breaker box door is open or shut.....

You must not have much experience with a GOOD air powered grease gun. You can definitely tell when its pumping grease and how much your putting in. I can also hear a change in the sound of the pump when it gets low on grease long before the line stops pumping grease at the zerk.
