Pneumatic Grease gun?

You must not have much experience with a GOOD air powered grease gun. You can definitely tell when its pumping grease and how much your putting in. I can also hear a change in the sound of the pump when it gets low on grease long before the line stops pumping grease at the zerk.

Problem with air powered guns, they SOUND like they are delivering grease, even when they aren't! I HATE that, if the grease is cold or the zerk isn't taking grease well, the gun still sounds like it's greasing fine...

It is a valve that replaces the drain cock on the tank.

Harbor Freight sells one that activates the drain each time the compressor cycles.

Mine is electronically operated. It is set to drain for 3 seconds every 45 minutes. Weldors use such a drain when plasma cutting and needing extra dry air.

eBay sells all different sorts of them.

This sounds like a good way to keep water out of the tank, think I'll get one.

I've seen the same complaint from farmers on farm sites, most of them, like me, have abandoned the air powered grease guns LONG ago...

Maybe it's my imagination,,,,, but I am pretty sure I can tell when my rechargeable gun is pushing grease. On some applications I feather the trigger to pump slow so I can feel when the site is full.

If you cant tell when grease is flowing or how much its one of two things a cheep gun or improper use! This holds true for many of the farmers I have met who even after years of owning them cant get them to work properly as well as the parts changers in the garage that prefer to get the manual gun out rather than use the main grease line hanging in the shop.

I haven't used a full tube yet on my Dewalt 20v grease gun, I'm assuming I'll know when it's out of grease, if not, a guy at work told me if I had a smart phone, I could download an APP that would send me a text letting me know that I'm out of grease.
I cant feel a thing on any of my FEL grease applications, all I know is the gun is variable speed, I just keep my trigger finger on the trigger until I see grease come out somewhere.

WOW, there's an app that texts you when you're out? I haven't really had a problem with running dry and not noticing on my Dewalt. On a lesser tech note, you could purchase an extra tube.

On my two Milwaukee M12 grease guns you can hear and feel the subtle change when a new tube of grease is required. Changeovers are fairly simple, never a problem. Greasing equipment is much less of a chore! The low on grease app from Milwaukee is currently only available on iOS.

Absolutely can tell if a zerk is taking grease on my Lincoln 1162. You can feel it pulsing through the hose and gun. Plus with the Univerco coupler now, there is basically no chance of the grease going around the zerk instead of through it. When its almost out, the pumping rate will speed up considerably.

An app for a grease gun?> I think somebody was pulling someones leg.
