I had a co worker whose husband bought one used. Something like 70,000 miles on it. They bought the high dollar extended warranty, lucky for them. It had the cab off something like 4 times, maybe more. New short block, turbos, injectors, etc. They got rid of it finally when it was running good but it was going through a regen every 75 miles. DP is correct, at least with a 6.0 you know what you need to do to fix it.

Are you sure they are cheap to fix??? I've owned but not bullet proofed it and put almost as much as paid for it into it

You had a bad mechanic that threw parts. $6500 will get you one heck of a stout 6.0 around here with head studs, gaskets, egr delete, coolant filter, turbo overhaul, injectors, exhaust, programmer, ect.

Basic bulletproof is $3500. That's EGR delete, head studs, gaskets, ect.

Yes. 07 were extremely reliable. 05 and 06 was better than a 03 and 04.

Steer clear of a 03 and 04. There are actually differences in the motor and the electronics from the 05 and later trucks.

Pretty sure it's in the 3k-4k range from what I've heard...Gotta get the problems before they happen though. Otherwise it ain't pretty. Once it starts dumping anti-freeze into the motor, all bets are off.

That's the Kit and labor. I know 2 guys who just bought 6.0L trucks. One was a die hard GM guy. Got a 07 F350 Dually. The other upgraded his 2001 7.3 F250 to a 07 F350 SRW.

Both got them basic bullet proofed for under $3500 total.
