For the record I think it is safe to say that every tractor made is for sale on the internet at some point these day.

If you dont already have stuff wrong with your new massey, you are ahead of my deere.

Funny you should say that. I've put about 15hrs on it so far.

When I first start the tractor up until it gets warm it seems to have a slight miss off and on. It sounds like a putt putt chugalug chugalug motor...not real sure how to explain in writing lol. Once it warms up its fine and it doesn't do it every time, maybe 5 times so far.

When at idle or close to it, steering doesn't turn smooth like it should..kind of hangs up a little. And I only turn my wheels if I'm moving. I don't like turning wheels sitting still. Doesn't happen all the time but it does happen probably once every day I use it.

If I'm not running it hard the exhaust is rather strong smelling but if I'm running it pretty hard that's not n issue.

Those are the only 3 things I can complain about. Everything else seems to work as it should.

I have 1 I bought in early 2014
Have around 250 hours on it...nothing to say against it !
You'll be fine + you mentioned a good dealer for service which is the key.
Any brand will have issues here and there.
Very strong hydraulics...the FEL also.
The 2 negatives I have is the transmission...very tight shifting pattern and the seat is to low .

You do know you can adjust the seat height right? Mine was on the floor and being 6' it was very uncomfortable. Raised it all the way up and now I can see better and its more comfortable. The adjustment is on the back of the seat.

I am 6'2"...and the seat is all the way up, but still to low for my liking, I added a 2" foam pad on the seat...does help a bit.

i would check fuel filters for water or maybe try some conditioner the motor shouldn't do that I've never experienced rough idle at any time.as for the exhaust can't really say since it has a cab but I have had in in shop running and can barely tell it is a diesel seems to burn real clean might want to find a new fuel source

You can bolt a bent plate under the seat to raise it up (think like a elongated "C" cross section), or get longer bolts and slide on risers under the seat and over the bolt where the seat bolts to the floor to raise the overall seat height up using cut down pipe (or whatever the hardware store has in your area) as shim stock.

over 500 hours on 4610 no issues with codes or steering or anything else for that matter.my neighbor has one too and hasn't had any problems either.i think you will be happy with your tractor dewbie

Great to hear timberjackrob -- that is a really solid data point; a user with 500 hours on the thing, very few if any problems. I have a MF 2660 with a whole different history. Will post separately.
