49F and cloudy @ 12:00 ... due for some rain here in a bit ... definitely by the overnight hours. Then nice warm weather for the coming week.

Got the sheet metal cut and the last opening in the AC coil housing closed up, and a bunch of joints taped and/or silicone'd yesterday. Also got the April Aire re-mounted and connected up, save for the wiring ... which needs further investigation. New water panel installed also.

Intake air temp in the cold air return: 73F, output air temp in the AC coil housing: 147F ... which is well below the rated maximum of 180F.

Unit is rated for a 40F to 70F degree temp rise, so I'd say it's probably pretty much set correctly. Will text Aaron and see what he thinks.

Spent a couple of hours last night washing the gravel for the big aquarium before I went to bed ... by the time I got to the end I was struggling to come up with another clean container to put the last of it in. Next up are the rocks, under gravel filters, and hood.

Enjoy your weekend all.

Great, Then she can answer the question "Where do you get your protein from?" with the correct answer

From what I have learned, you get protein in almost everything you eat and as a whole, most Americans get more than they can use. The thought that it comes from meat is a fallacy. But don't make me wait 3 years to find out :D

Correct but you will have to wait 3 years to find out why non-animal protein is better.

I know you have cattle, beef, dairy or lawnmowers?

I have leased my land out to the same farmer for 20 years, his cattle mow and make organic fertilizer since they eat the organic native grasses and shrubs. Plus they provide entertainment for Whipper who must make sure they are not too close to the road when we go walking.

Wife wants to know how long you have been Vegan, and why?
Almost 5 years. After extensive research and interviews with cardiologist after my heart attack. Actually - not vegan, but Plant Based Whole foods, No added oils. Just eating Vegan would be a breeze but it would not stop/reverse my heart disease, and vegetarians well - they are just fooling themselves or love animals more than themselves - really - cheese, eggs, dairy . . . .

Don, I apologize if you thought I was being mischievous in my questioning. . . . My problem is within myself. When I was a kid I hated all vegetables. They actually would give me a gag reflex. Not sure why. My dad would force me to eat them. (Talk about a long sit at the dinner table.) My older sister was the opposite, loving veggies and hating meat. To this day, I have started liking a handful of veggies but I still don't like most. I have tried most and have been able to start eating some, but not near enough to fulfill my entire diet. My 5 year old son has this same dilemma.

No no offense taken, I know a lot of people here don't want to hear anything that affects there right to the pursuit of happiness - which is to eat anything they want to. I know sooner or later If they are lucky they will get a second chance at life and if they are smart won't blow it the second time. Would you like meat with no seasonings - delicious veggies are all about preparations and seasonings. My wife likes the Happy Herbivore cookbooks. Some people starting out with diet change have to take baby steps, if you have the time (I don't), first start off with breakfast. Then a few meals a week etc. etc.

As far as your mental issues caused by your childhood memories, I'll have to take the DR. Phil approach: Get over it you are a big boy now!

I Had my once a month flat this morning (rock puncture) and went to Bastrop and had to make 3 high water detours. Oh wait, it's the 31st - that makes two flats for this month.
The RV park on Hwy71 at the Colorado river is flooded and 5 of the RVs did not get out and have water up to their windshields. The office also has the river in it. It rain 14" in 6 hours near the Austin Airport. The river is still rising.

Cool and trying to rain here, just a few drops, then it quits, starts up again later. Helped the wife out today, then lunch with friends. Going to work in the shop in a bit, adding a outlet for a cord reel outlet setup. Something that has been hanging fire for a couple of years.

oh what a busy day. First the water pipe right in the way of the new construction broke, for the forth time in a year, needless to say, when the little shed is done, I'm ripping out that line and replacing it all the way back to the fence. My challenge, as noted before, is that the prior owner ran this water line to the barn all the way from the street with not one valve in it. When I redo it it won't be at 9 inches depth, as it is now, no wonder the fittings pull apart..., but at 24 inches and in a proper bed of gravel.
I joked with the plumbers, who the contractor got out in two hours notice, remarkable, that they would be back ten minutes after the concrete truck left and they smiled and said you bet! They will also put the final pipe in, though I'll dig the ditch. Well, it's fixed and covered with some junk plywood for now.

Then the contractor called and said his guy with the ditch bridge/mat could only do it today, so off he went to get the wooden contraption, and with the FEL forks, I got it placed. He will build up from the bottom of the ditch with 6x6's until it has support. And he will layer on top with more wood. Personally I'm going to be ready with my camera when the concrete truck goes over it on the way in.

In our clay, we use the PVC lengths that have one end "upset" bigger with an internal oring. Mating 2 joints, they have about a 4"-6" overlap to hold during the clay's expansion/shrinking. I hate it when waterlines burst. What a mess of digging that ends up changing what else you were planning to do....If you're fortunate enough to have a backhoe, don't waste time trying to gingerly dig around the break. Get in there, tear the crap out of it and replace the whole joint. It is a lot easier than fighting a connection in a small hole. OTOH, if you are digging like Larro likes to, go get one of these and quickly get back to what your were doing.

Don't waste your time with these IMHO.

Get in there, tear the crap out of it and replace the whole joint.

did I mention there was a live 120VAC line running right along the pipe with no way to turn it off?
yeah baby, I want to run that back hoe. And I can sing you light up my life.... :D:D

sorry, that was too much fun
I'd say it was fortunate I didn't have a backhoe...others should have one for sure.
For sure a careful hand shovel job only.

and yes joints removed and new piece inserted between them. All four times have been loose connections, not holes in pipe.

Hey Drew... Are you saying I am not supposed to eat the family dog??? :confused3: As far as selling beef, I already have more customers than I have plans on having steers. Even the processing plant is wanting me to start right away. And yes, I have no problem eating what I raise, do you eat the tomatoes out of your garden?

Kyle and Farmer, you are kinda lucky that you don't like foods, my problem is I love most all foods!!! Hence why I was pushing 300# What I am doing is good for me for so many reasons.

Kyle, trust me, if it had been worse or not her fault I would have grabbed the 44-40 and put one between the eyes. But as it is, it taught her that livestock is not the family pet, and you watch what they are doing. He gave her warning, putting his head down and trying to get around her to the food. She didn't move so he moved her. Her thigh is bruised where he hit her and her butt hurts where she landed on the hay cradle, but her knowledge is much stronger. Again... "Green Acres", I brought a city girl to the country

Good news, after losing patience with the guy over the cow, we found someone with a 5yo cow and 9month old heifer that we are picking up tomorrow.

I get weird dizziness or something "tingly" that brings on anxiety if I drink too much. I've pretty much cut it out of my diet. An occasional glass of tea or a soda maybe once every few weeks. I can have 1 cup of half decaf/half regular if it is not brewed too strong. But every now and then my wife will sneak a bit too much regular coffee into the mix and it gives me the tingles. She brews coffee so strong, you can float a horseshoe on it.

Margie has a problem with caffeine too. I am a big coffee drinker and could always drink the high test right up to bedtime and it not affect my sleep. {other than going to the bathroom} But it was crazy trying to make two pots of coffee, so I gradually got used to using less caffeine. My mix now is about 85% decaf. My current blend is Folgers, New England, McCafe and Seattle's Best decafs mixed with Black Silk and some kind of Espresso {I'm at work, so I can't look in the pantry to see the brand} Earlier in the week Sister came by and helped put up peas. Margie was out of town, so we brewed a pot of Black Silk and Espresso. After the 2nd cup I could feel the caffeine. I've got used to the decaf now.
