Why does everyone rant and rave about the EcoBoost?

Being in the truck market and just going at how trucks we looked were selling left and right... I think Ford is doing well in my part of the county... mind you I have two Chevrolet trucks that have provided great service and one Dodge that has been equally reliable.

Twice we have looked at new F150 at Dealer lots and twice they were gone the next day... the inventory seems to be turning over too... at work there were 4 new F150 bought and one GMC...

I realize it doesn't mean much... my own take is there were plenty of Ford buyers for the 150 on the sidelines with the new Aluminum body that have decided to jump in...

The only pickup I have ever owned that had issues was my S10... really bugged me the series of instrument cluster issues... so much so that I bought my own stewart warner fuel and temp guages....

People see what they want to see. They throw out numbers of trucks for the area they live but do they really know. Do they keep a note pad and tally them? It's subjective. In my area I'd say Chevy and Ford are about equal but also a lot of Dodges. Not a lot of Toyotas or Nissans. Do I know actual numbers? No.

I think it has more to do with the "Good Dealers" and people seem to buy what they build. In the 90's GM was king here but not now due to factory closures along with dealerships. Toyota is so strong here because the big JD dealership, owns 5 huge facilities covering a good portion of the state, also sells Toyota and has dozens in stock setup with Boss Plows, Lifts, Wheels, ect. For a long time if you bought a big JD tractor you got a "Free" 2 year lease on a Tundra. That made a lot of farmers loyalists.

I read all these post and I'm glad I still have my pristine (never sees snow), 97 F350, 7.3 long bed 4wd 4 door that averages 21 highway and will pull stumps. Far as I'm concerned, there is no replacement for displacement.

Don't want a weenie displacement engine for towing. No way.

Keep in mind that Ford had production problems that held back production for most of this year. Ford has been selling more options and the ASP is supposedly $3K more than it was previously.

RAM seems to always have zero percent financing and I think that plays into their sales: they are selling a lot to the "monthly payment" crowd.

Unfortunately that model is no longer made and has not been made for some time...
