Cant really count sunday, so technically 5 days.

Where is the package coming from?

can't count sundays? sure you can.. you don't think those big semi trucks just pull over on the side of the road do ya? I see semi's ont he interstate on sunday hauling mail .. well.. every time I'm on the interstate on a sunday! :)

Mail does not suddenly hit the ground on sundays. it flies, swims and drives all week with very few exceptions.

USPS tracking is a joke. Most times when you track a package it will show when it was sent from the home post office and that expected delivery is in about three days and then again there will be no other remarks even after a week or two until the package is delivered.

.

yes.. their tracking is a joke.. a scan in but no scan out sometimes... so you have no idea if a package is lost at the sender, at the destination, or inbetween.. you just know it's lost.

BIG HELP!

It is simple. Give USPS more money and they will do better. Just ask them.
Tracking is not good even on the day of delivery.

The post office is loosing money every day due to poor management and union control. It would never survive if it had to at least breakeven.
The waste in the service is beyond ridiculous. I have had family members who worked their entire life for the USPS. Just ridiculous what goes on inside that organization. Remember when "Going Postal" was the popular phrase? It happened for a reason.

I made the mistake of mailing my tax return from home. It snowed the night after I mailed it. Four weeks later after the snow melted a neighbor three doors down brought me my tax return she found in her lawn.
Good thin I filed early. The excuse the mail lost it would not have been accepted for late filing.

The Constitution requires the federal government to "provide for a mail service". It does not require the gov. to manage it.
Time to get better management in the service.

A woman took a package to the post office to mail and was told it
would cost $2.40 for fast delivery or $1.30 for slower service.
"There is no hurry," she told the clerk, "just so the package is
delivered in my lifetime."
The postmaster glanced at her and said, "That will be $2.40, please."

i mailed my tax info to my cpa one year, and after they waved their magic wand, they mailed it back so I could sign and drop the rest of my $ into the mail to the irs. the mail gave my priority, return receipt package to someone else at my local post office, who, as luck? would have it, used the same cpa I did ( cpa is 3 cities away... so quite odd ).. that person saw the cpa's mailing lable, thought it was theirs and OPENED my tax info!!

Lucky for me they were honest people and called me and we made arangements to meet so I could get my tax info.

I went thru the roof with the local 'orifice' and in the end 'go pound sand', as with any issue you have with the post orifice... there is nothing the consumer can do...

I use the mail service very rarely. Maybe a card in the mail is about all I trust them with. Definitely not anything important. I do my taxes online, pay all my bills online through my bank, and if I need to ship anything I will use UPS. However, I still have good luck with USPS. And they deliver here on Sunday also, just got an Amazon package yesterday.

It appears to me that the problems are regional. I've used the USPS for years to receive and return all my bills and other correspondence. True when I lived in the city and true since I've been living in an unincorporated area for 40 years. Rarely has something been mis-delivered. And I don't have a relative or anybody else employed by them to sway my opinion. Although my experience is just residential...just sayin'.
Cheers,
Mike

Our local post office likes to tack on an extra charge for various reasons.
Personally, I feel that if the other post office accepted it, the receiving one has no business taking on any other fees.
