I have, after much thought, figured out how to tell a Yankee Woman from a Southern Woman! Yankee women do not even nod their head or say," thank you" for holding the door for them. No smile either. No wonder you Yankee guys are so cranky, you've got cranky women.Let me tell you how to cheer them up. About once a week, as the gal walks past your lazy boy easy chair, reach out and slap her on the behind and say, "Get in thar' and make me a sammich, woman!". Guaranteed to cheer 'em right up. Lets 'em know they are loved and appreciated! :confused2:
On another note: If most of us came from "English" stock (seems everyone's relatives came over on the Mayflower...man, that must have been some overloaded ship...lol") how come we don't still talk like the English from England? Or at least somewhat like them. Just wondering, or "wandering" as we say down here in the Deep South.Oh, and pass me a piece of the PeeeCan Pie. :licking:
While British Isles does make up a significant amount of the bloodlines . There was such a large influx of Germanic persons in the 1800's . That the U.S. Government put it to a vote if English or German would be the official language . English won by a narrow margin.
