I keep hearing better but what do you mean? How is the kioti not as good? Sheesh, it's like pulling teeth to get an answer.
The Kioti can't break traction in the lowest gear in 4x4 with the diff locked while lightly ballasted. It just sits there and whines. All of the Kubotas can pass this test with a higher percentage of ballast.

Is his a HST. I agree with the Kioti having a problem, but the dealer says it doesn't.

Not trying start trouble but Breaking traction is not desirable. Traction is a transfer of power often affected heavily by weight. Kioti tractors are notoriously heavy for there class which helps prevent traction loss. The fact that one tractor breaks traction and another does not has nothing to do with quality of a hydrostatic transmission. It is more affected by weight and hydro relief settings. In fact I think a lot of different manufactures use the same hydro transmissions.
As far as resale I have not seen a resale price difference between Kioti and Kubota in my area.
Not familiar with your small options but I think both of the larger tractors are nice. Each has its own pros & cons. In my mind they are both winners. Taking them for a spin should help you decide which is best for you

I agree. Also, 4570man, you are comparing a CK25 to a tractor with almost 40% more HP, both of comparable weight. And the cost of that grand L is many thousands of dollars more. As tman said, it's about relief setting mostly, but the HP contributes. As for the gear models, my CK25 will spin in the 4th gear of low range. Rather than make some blanket statement without explaining reasoning an accurate account of your experience would have some credibility. Then let others decide what that means.

I know a man that has a Kubota 4740. He has to rebuild the front axle in it yearly. Would it be fair for me to say that Kubota's have unreliable front axles? I have a friend that had a B20. I used it some. It wouldn't push much before spinning; nearly worthless compared to my CK25 (my buddie's words). Should I say that Kubotas are too light to put the power to the ground? Clearly that was the case with my buddie's (and it had a backhoe on it!). But not true of all Kubotas. After using my CK25 he was so disappointed in his B20, he got rid of it and bought a Mahindra. He didn't buy a Kioti simply because that was what I had (go figure??).

The Grand is not a comparable weight machine. It weighs nearly double with the ballast on it. Breaking traction is desirable. The Kioti can't put it's power to the ground. It might as well be a 2000 pound tractor because then it could put its powerful to the ground.

I have not found a kioti that acts like this as of yet! I did however have 2 kubota that could not get out of their own way. Problem for me is I wont sit here and bad mouth them because I know that they were more the exception to the rule rather than the standard. The dealership also said there was nothing wrong with them but after running some JD units at the time I had to strongly disagree and in the long run due this and other problems we switched back to JD.

" Breaking traction is desirable.?"

Since when is it desirable to loose traction??? Why the **** would I want to loose control of my machine??

Knowing you have the power to break traction might be desirable but I don't see how breaking traction all the time would be desirable Even with my gear tractors I want to use all the power I have without breaking traction as I know that once the tires are spinning you are not making any forward progress and just wasting time/fuel and tire wear! Not to mention now you have to go back and fix the ruts you just made.

One of the reasons I haven't gone back to Kubota is they tend to be light compared to other machines (at least in the size machines I looked at recently) and for me this means a lot. Yes I could load one up with ballast but again when I load up my Kioti with ballast it is still going to have more weight than the loaded up Kubota and still be more productive for my uses.

So now my question has turned to why do you feel that spinning the tires loose all the time would be a good thing when most of the tractor world tries more so not to spin their wheels when working the tractor?

I have put my fair share of hours on a CK25. Even the 1980 HST in my B7100 is better.

Having owned a B7100 myself many years ago this statement just made me spit my coffee all over the keyboard as I couldn't contain my laugh! I got rid of that machine within the month and replaced it with a FORD that was able to work circles around it!
