Do you have KTAC insurance? This is the type of things the insure and fix. Wouldn't be w/o it after the paid a $8K damage bill.

Both were back in the woods and required doing the repair in situ...carrying heavy tools and parts, since we couldn't drive right to the site. The October damage also involved breaking off the end of the steering hydraulic cylinder and bending the stabilizer arm a bit.
Thankfully, I made it through 2015 without doing any more damage.

I got my tractor back. The guys were out of the shop for about a week for service training. Wallet is lighter but tractor works great.

You could probably support a herd of horses for what one airplane costs to own and operate. You have all sorts of gubberment interference to deal with on top of it all and that is always good to at least double if not triple what something costs. Even simple things like spark plugs cost something like a hundred dollars each and there are two per jug. A new Cessna 172, about the most basic single engine putt putt airplane you can buy, will sit you back about 300K just to start with. I used to fly when I worked for Cessna but when it quit being free, I quit flying.

I think it would be really fun to have a plane and fly but I know I could never afford it. Besides, when my tractor or truck break, I'm only a foot or two above the ground.
