I'm trying to repair the reverser in my 301a.
I found the front seal completelty shot, and a bigger problem.
For whatever reason, the clutch pack is digging into the front housing. (pic below)
There are no thrust washers or anything in it.
Also the center hole where the seal goes is a good bigger then the shaft, about 1/16"
I just feel like something is missing here.
Surely the little seal isn't the only thing that keeps the hub off of the housing.
Is there supposed to be a thrust washer or something in here to keep these from rubbing?
What keeps the hub off of the housing?
