To deal with that CRS factor I keep a small notepad in my back pocket. Now have to remember to write stuff down in that notepad...

I'd have to remember I had the notebook. And then where I put it.

I always make my list on my phone. I always have it with me so I can always add to my lists. The problem I have is I forget to look at my phone when I need the items

I was working in an overgrown field last spring, spraying trees. I had a pair of cheater glasses in my shirt pocket. Knew at the time it was a bad situation but thats never stopped me before. Anyways, yes when I came out of the field they be gone. Fast forward to last fall. doing more work in the same field. I knew if they came out it didn't take long. I was in the area that I started spraying last spring, looked down and there they be!! In fact I am wearing them as I type. Bad situations work out OK lots of times.

I grew up using Think pads.

But I've had "pocket" computers since 1997 and try to keep one near me at all times.

Now with a 5" screen I've moved to my phone also. Be sure to make backups!

These notebooks fit in my shirt pocket and are $5 for a 12 pack at Sam's Club. I write everything down plus have lists of short and long term projects. You would be surprised what you can get done if you see it on paper. Generally, I do new projects in the morning and odd jobs or clean up in the later day. I'm retired and find a quick mid-day nap doubles my productivity because I am basically starting fresh.

That's a 12-pack of 70 sheets, for those of you who dint follow the link- 7 sheets did seem kinda low....

But then his screen name is six dogs, so I thought seven sheets? maybe...

Along these lines - Although I always try to carry a computer I also used to usually carry a small notepad and pencil.
My favorite "line" is the Rite in the Rain pocket size. They are relatively expensive and are best used with a pencil but are totally waterproof. They can usually be bought by the dozen. However you can also get them with grids, notes, etc.
I have had them submerged with no damage.

However, if you write "stuff" down in notebooks that may get lost it is difficult to encrypt the writing (unless your handwriting is as bad as my wife's). Whereas with my pocket computers I can keep my important details encrypted with a 10 character password.

I have started using the built-in Notes app on the iPhone religiously lately. The main benefit is that the notes get synced to my iPad and computers, so I can see/edit the notes from any of them. Real handy for projects -- I can type dimensions, specs, and measurements on the iPhone and then see them on my computer. Or start a new note on the computer and it will appear on the iPhone. I have a lot fewer sticky notes and scraps of paper floating around.

My saw and mickey mouse ears where found in a different area than I was working neatly nestled together. I must have CRS.

Great you got it back

Better ask Mulder & Scully (if they're still a team) about this as a precaution ... it may happen again! :confused2:

We use a notes app on the Android phone also.. and you can use your voice as an input device. You can put it in a list format and press the big X to delete each line to check them off. Always with you and less trouble than paper. But then again while I am an old fart, I am a technologically inclined old fart.:)
